You will also be able to bet on each individual game throughout March Madness. The three main bets you can make on an NCAA basketball game are the spread, money line (to win) and total. Here is an example of these three bets using the Santa Clara vs Kentucky round of 64 game from this year.
In this example Kentucky is a 3 point favorite. This means Kentucky would have to win by 4 or more for a spread bet on Kentucky to win. A spread bet on Santa Clara would win if Santa Clara either wins the game outright or loses by 2 or fewer points. If Kentucky wins by exactly 3 points the spread bets would push.
Kentucky has money line (to win) odds of -150. This means you would have to risk $150 to win $100 betting on Kentucky to win the game. Santa Clara has money line odds of +130, which means a $100 bet on Santa Clara would win $130 (payout $230) if they won the game.
The total for the game is set at 160 and you can bet on whether the total number of points scored by both teams will be over or under this number.
