Floyd Schofield vs Lucas Bahdi Preview October 10th, 2026

Two unbeaten lightweights will be squaring off for the vacant WBA World Title this Saturday, October 10th. Floyd Schofield of Jersey City, New Jersey and Lucas Bahdi of Niagara Falls, Canada meet in Chicago, Illinois with the 12-rounder being aired in most nations on DAZN. Schofield last saw action in June, 2025 when he stopped Tevin Farmer in just 78 seconds. In his previous outing seventh months earlier he beat Rene Tellez Giron via a 12-round unanimous decision despite being knocked down in the 11th round. Bahdi’s last fight resulted in a 12-round unanimous decision over former world champion Roger Gutierrez after dropping him in round six.

  • Floyd Schofield -725

My Pick

Schofield is just 24 years old and he enters the ring with a perfect mark of 19-0 with 13 Ko’s. He’s boxed 78 rounds since making his pro debut in 2020 as a teenager following a successful amateur career which saw him reportedly go 180-20. Schofield, who stands 5-feet-7-inches tall with an unlisted reach, now fights out of Austin, Texas. He possesses pretty good power as 68.4 per cent of his wins have come by stoppage. However he’s halted just three of his past seven opponents.

Since turning pro Schofield has won the vacant Texas Super Featherweight Title, the vacant NABF Junior Super Featherweight Belt and the vacant American Boxing Federation Inter-Continental Lightweight Crown. His toughest opponents so far have been Farmer and Giron. He also has wins over Danny Flores, Daniel Rosas, Alberto Mercado, Jesus Leon, Haskell Rhodes and Ricardo Torres. Schofield has fine hand speed as well as a hurtful left hook. He may suffer a little ring rust though as this is his first fight in 16 months.

The 32-year-old Bahdi carries around a perfect record of 20-0 with 15 Ko’s and has 92 rounds of experience under his belt since making his pro debut in 2019. Before that he enjoyed a fine amateur career which saw him capture three national championships and reportedly go 40-14. He decided to turn pro rather than aim for the Olympics after he reportedly lost trust with the Canadian National Team program. He measures 5-feet-9-inches tall with an unlisted reach for a two-inch edge in height on Schofield.

As far as power is concerned, Bahdi has the edge on Schofield as his current knockout ratio stands at 75 per cent. He’s gone the distance just five times in his 20-fight pro career so far but doesn’t have experience against upper-level opposition other than fighting Gutierrez. He’s also gone the distance in his past three contests. Bahdi stopped Jesus Amparan in the ninth round in May, 2023 to win the IBF North American Lightweight Title and has reportedly signed on with Jake Paul’s MVP Promotions.

Prediction…

Bahdi has the slight edge in power and to be honest that’s probably it against Schofield, other than the two-inch height advantage. Schofield hasn’t exactly faced the cream of the crop in the division either and pulled out of his scheduled fight with Shakur Stevenson a couple of years ago. I’m expecting Bahdi to out up a good fight here but I don’t think he’ll do enough to win it. I’m going with Schofield but it could go the distance.

Schofield’s overall skills should be the difference.
