David Papot vs Harlem Eubank Preview July 18th, 2026

Harlem Eubank of Brighton, England has a tough fight on his hands this Saturday, July 18th when he meets David Papot of France. The 12-rounder from London, England can be seen live in most nations on DAZN and is for the vacant IBF International Welterweight Title. Papot last saw action in September when he lost his first pro fight by dropping a 12-round unanimous decision to Liam Paro down in Australia. In his previous outing Papot halted Josh Wagner in the seventh round to defend his WBO Global Welterweight Belt. Eubank last fought in November when he beat Josh Wagner via a wide 10-round unanimous decision. In his previous contest Eubank lost a seven-round technical decision to Jack Catterall for his lone pro defeat. Both boxers suffered cuts after a clash of heads and the fight, which was for Eubank’s IBF Inter-Continental Welterweight Belt, was stopped and went to the scorecards. Eubank had won the vacant title in March, 2025 when he stopped Tyrone McKenna in the 10th round.

My Pick
Papot is a 35-year-old southpaw who makes the ring walk with a fine mark of 30-1-1 with just 5 Ko’s to his name. He has 224 rounds of experience under his belt since making his pro debut in 2013. As an amateur he reached semifinals of the 2013 and 2010 French National Championships. Unfortunately there is no height and reach information on Papot so we don’t know how he stacks up size-wise against Eubank. We do know how he measures up against Eubank when it comes to power though. He’s at a bit of a disadvantage in this department as just 16.7 per cent of Papot’s victories have come by stoppage.
He did halt Josh Wagner two fights ago but had stopped just one of his previous 13 foes. Papot has fought outside of France just twice and hasn’t had much success. In 2019 be battled to a 12-round draw with James McGirt in a shot at the vacant WBO International Middleweight Title and lost to Liam Paro in Australia in his last contest. Papot won the vacant French Super Welterweight Belt in 2017 and captured the vacant IBA World Super Welterweight Title in 2021. He then added the vacant Global Welterweight belt in April, 2024 against domestic-level competition.
The 32-year-old Eubank, who took up boxing at the age of 18, is the nephew of former world champion Chris Eubank and the cousin of Chris Eubank Jr. He climbs through the ropes with an impressive record of 22-1 with 9 Ko’s and has boxed 151 rounds since making his pro debut back in 2017. He won the vacant WBO Global Super Lightweight title in 2023 when he stopped Timo Schwarzkopf in the 11th round after dropping him in the third.
He measures 5-feet-8-inches tall with a 68.5-inch reach. As far as power is concerned, like Papot, Eubank is also below average as 40.9 per cent of his wins have come by stoppage. He’s halted just three of his last nine opponents, but percentage-wise, he’s a slugger compared to Papot. On the bright side, three of Eubank’s last five victories were by stoppage. Eubank is a former soccer player and karate enthusiast.
Prediction…
Eubank and Papot aren’t really polished and powerful boxers but they are quite determined and can punch just hard enough to keep you honest. They’re not world-class boxers by any stretch of imagination though as they’re both domestic or European level at best. Still, I think Papot has a bit more in the tank when it comes to pure skill and that’s why I’m going with him in a close fight. I certainly don’t rule out a Eubank victory or draw though, especially fighting in the UK where they officiating and judging is often horrendous.
Papot is slightly better than Eubank at this point in time.
