Knightsbridge is the 5/2 morning line favorite heading into the Pacific Classic. This 5-year-old comes in off a runaway win in the Monmouth Cup last month, taking that race by more than 10 lengths. Saturday will be his first try at a mile and a quarter and his first start west of the Mississippi, but he has won 5 of his last 7 races and looks to be improving each time out for trainer Bill Mott.
Forged Steel is the second favorite at 5-1 in the eleven horse field. The 4-year-old won the Hollywood Gold Cup two starts back before a tiring 5th place finish in the Suburban last out. Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. scratched him from the Whitney earlier this month to point him to this spot instead.
Hit Show rounds out the top three favorites with odds of 6-1. This 6-year-old is a former Dubai World Cup winner with career earnings north of $9 million. He finished 2nd in the Suburban last time out after a troubled start, and gets a fresh chance here against a wide open field.
