It’s race day! The 2026 Belmont Stakes is set to take place this evening (Saturday, June 6th). It will be broadcast on FOX and has a post time of 7:04pm ET.
This years race remains at Saratoga Race Course for the third consecutive year due to ongoing renovations at Belmont Park. The race will once again be run at a distance of 1.25 miles instead of the typical 1.5 miles the Belmont Stakes is known for. This is expected to be the final time the race is held at Saratoga, with Belmont Park scheduled to reopen in the fall of 2026 and the Belmont Stakes returning to its traditional home and 1.5 mile distance in 2027.
A Triple Crown winner will not be crowned at this years Belmont Stakes. Golden Tempo, the Kentucky Derby winner, did not compete in the Preakness Stakes, which was won by Napoleon Solo. Kentucky Derby runner-up Renegade and fourth-place finisher Chief Wallabee head the field as the two morning line favorites, with Derby winner Golden Tempo also among the top contenders. The Belmont Stakes remains one of the biggest races in the US even without a Triple Crown on the line.
I’m expecting there to still be plenty of betting action on this years Belmont Stakes. On this page I will recommend our top rated betting site for Americans, touch on the regulatory climate of sports betting in Minnesota and Wisconsin, look at the morning line odds for the race, and provide a simple 3 step guide you can use to bet on the Belmont Stakes online quickly and easily.

Belmont Stakes Betting in Minnesota and Wisconsin
Sports betting laws are different in Minnesota and Wisconsin, but residents of both states can still wager on the Belmont Stakes online through an offshore sportsbook.
It is currently not legal to operate a sportsbook in Minnesota. Lawmakers have made repeated attempts to regulate sports betting in recent years, but the most recent effort failed to advance during the 2026 legislative session, leaving the state without any legal in-state sportsbooks.
Wisconsin does allow sports betting, but only in person at the state’s tribal casinos. Governor Tony Evers signed a bill in April 2026 to legalize statewide online sports betting through Wisconsin’s tribes, however it has not yet launched as new gaming compacts still need to be negotiated and approved. As a result, there is currently no way to bet on the Belmont Stakes online from home through a state-regulated Wisconsin sportsbook.
That said, if you live in Minnesota or Wisconsin you can bet on the Belmont Stakes online through an offshore sportsbook that is licensed and regulated outside of the United States. BetOnline.ag falls into this category.
