The 2024 Belmont Stakes race will take place at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York this Saturday, June 8th. The race has a post time of 6:41pm EST. The race was moved from Belmont Park to Saratoga due to ongoing renovations at Belmont Park. This change of track will result in the race being held at a distance of 10 furlongs (1.25 miles) instead of the traditional 12 furlongs (1.5 miles) typical of a Belmont Stakes.
The 2024 Belmont Stakes will not crown a Triple Crown winner. Mystik Dan, the Kentucky Derby winner, finished second at the Preakness Stakes, ending his bid for a Triple Crown.
The Belmont Stakes won’t receive the fanfare it does when a Triple Crown is on the line, but the race is still one of the most popular of the year and it will be broadcast nationally on FOX from 4-7pm EST.
