Valero Texas Open Betting Picks

By Golf

The PGA Tour just keeps delivering the goods and throwing up great champions, as last week Branden Grace from South Africa came from behind to beat Luke Donald in a sizzling day at the RBC Heritage. The unpredictability of golf on the best tours around the world is why it is such a great spectators sport. The players have arrived in Texas for the Valero Texas Open and Jimmy Walker will be hoping he can defend the title he won last year.  The course is TPC San Antonio (AT&T Oaks) and measures 7, 435 yards and plays as a par 72. Tight Fairways and exceptionally deep bunkers await the players this week at a course where disaster is just one shot away. No one proved that more than Kevin Na, who during this event four years ago, came away with a 16 on the 9th hole par 4. There is reason to suggest that those who do well at the Valero Texas Open are coming into the tournament in good form already. TPC San Antonio (AT&T Oaks) is hardly the place to find your game and try iron out a few kinks in your swing, as anybody not entirely on top of their game will be found out and punished.

Branden Grace (+1500 BetOnline.ag)

The immensely talented South African has been threatening to break through on the PGA Tour for some time now. Having won last week, Grace will no doubt go on to win a lot more now on the PGA Tour. The conditions and course in Texas will play right into his hands. Having played his golf at Fancourt Links down in George in South Africa, Branden Grace will know all about playing in the wind, should it blow in This weekend. Being one of the longer hitters on the tour he will also not struggle with the length that AT&T Oaks presents.

Billy Horschel (+3300 BetOnline.ag)

Billy Horschel seems to come alive when he plays at the Valero Texas Open. He has finished in 3rd place the last two times he has played this course. Horschel obviously feels very comfortable playing here and enjoys raising his game on the tougher courses. The time may have just arrived where Billy Horschel goes one better and wins at TPC San Antonio

Luke Donald (+3300 BetOnline.ag)

The former number one in the world had an excellent finish last week at the RBC Heritage. Finishing second, Luke Donald will have the wind in his sails and a confidence that should elevate his chances this week. The layout at TPC San Antonio is not really one that would automatically suit Luke Donald but momentum is a powerful weapon in golf and Donald has it coming into this week.
