Shane Mosley Jr vs Serhi Bohachuk Preview May 10th, 2026

Ukraine’s Serhii Bohachuk will be taking on Shane Mosely Jr. of Pomona, California this Sunday, May 10th. The 10-round middleweight tilt from Las Vegas, Nevada and can be seen live on Paramount+. Bohachuk last fought in February when he edged Radzhab Butaev by a 10-round split decision. In his previous outing Bohachuk dropped a wide 10-round unanimous decision to Brandon Adams in a rematch. The two first met in 2021 with Adams stopping Bohachuk in the eighth round of a fight Bohachuk was handily winning on the scorecards to win the WBC Continental Americas Junior Middleweight Belt. Bohachuk won the vacant interim WBC Junior Middleweight Belt via a unanimous decision over Brian Mendoza in March, 2024 but then lost it via a controversial majority decision to Vergil Ortiz Jr even though he dropped Ortiz in the first and eighth rounds. Mosley Jr last boxed in December and came out on the wrong end of a 12-round unanimous decision to Jesus Ramos Jr. for the vacant interim WBC Middleweight Title.

MY PICK

The 31-year-old Bohachuk fights out of Los Angeles, California and makes the ring walk with a record of 27-3 with 24 of those wins coming by stoppage for a knockout ratio of 88.9 per cent in his victories. His first defeat was the eighth-round TKO to Adams in their first meeting with his second loss coming at the hands of Vergil Ortiz. He then lost to Adams in their rematch a few months ago. Therefore, Bohachuk has gone the distance just five times as a pro and they were five of his past six outings against Brian Mendoza, Ortiz, Mykal Fox, Adams and Radzhab Butaev.

When Adams halted him in March, 2021, Bohachuk was comfortably ahead on all three scorecards at the time and Adams was deducted a point for low blows in the third round. It’s quite obvious that Bohachuk has very good power and he’s had to fight just 145 rounds in 30 contests since making his pro debut in 2017. Before that he enjoyed a fine amateur career and competed in the World Series of Boxing for Ukraine. He was a silver medalist at the 2015 Ukrainian Championships and was a three-time national champion in the under-22 division.

Bohachuk stands 5-feet-11 inches tall with a 73-inch reach and also has wins over Ishmael Davis, Freddy Hernandez, Fernando Marin, Tyrone Brunson, Alejandro Davila, Raphael Igbokwe and Nathaniel Gallimore. He’s also a two-time WBC Continental Americas Junior Middleweight Champion. Bohachuk holds a 3-2 record in his last five fights and he has stopped just one of his past six opponents, when he halted Ishmael Davis in the sixth round in December, 2024.

The 35-year-old Mosley Jr, who fights out of Las Vegas, isn’t on the same level that his famous father was but is still a solid pro in his own right with a record of 22-5 with 12 Ko’s. He measures 6-feet-1-inch tall with a 77-inch reach so is two inches taller than Bohacuk with a four-inch edge in reach. Mosley has boxed 157 rounds since making his pro debut in 2014 after reportedly going 37-10 as an amateur. He isn’t really known as a heavy hitter but 54.6 per cent of his wins have come by way of knockout. He’s stopped two of his last four opponents but went the distance in five of the previous six outings.

Mosley’s first four defeats came at the hands of Marchristopher Adkins by four-round split decision in his third pro fight; by eight-round split decision to David Toussaint in 2017; a 10-round unanimous decision to Brandon Adams in 2018 and a 10-round majority decision to Jason Quigley in 2021 for the vacant WBO NABO Middleweight Title. As far as pro titles go, Mosley also captured the vacant WBO NABO Super Middleweight Title in February, 2021 when he stopped Cristian Olivas after five rounds and the vacant WBO NABO Middleweight Belt when he halted D’Mitrius Ballard in the seventh round in June, 2023. His toughest tests to date have been Ramos, Adams, Ballard, Quigley and Gabriel Rosado.

PREDICTION…

Mosley has been a solid but unspectacular boxer throughout his career and was on a pretty good roll with five consecutive wins until losing to Ramos in his last outing. Bohachuk doesn’t possess explosive power as he wears his opponents down when stopping them. Mosley also the height and reach advantage but Bohachuk typically works his way inside with volume punching and steady pressure. He’s much more aggressive than Mosley and should emerge with another win as long as he keeps letting his hands go, but he may have to go the distance once again to do it.

Bohachuk’s aggressiveness should do the job.
