Oscar De La Hoya vs Vitor Belfort is the latest fighting legends boxing match to be booked. De La Hoya will return to the ring for the first time in nearly 15 years when he battles Belfort in an exhibition boxing match on September 11th. The event will be promoted by Triller, but the location and rules from the fight have not yet been announced.
De La Hoya was a superstar boxer through the 1990’s and 2000’s winning 11 titles across six different weight classes. He also won a gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games, which earned him his nickname “The Golden Boy”. De La Hoya has not boxed since losing to Manny Pacquiao in late 2008. Belfort is a UFC legend, first competing for the promotion on the UFC 12 card at just 19 years old. He went on to win the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in 2004 and remained a contender earning three more title shots throughout his career, but failing to win a second UFC belt. Belfort will be 44 years old for this fight with De La Hoya.
