Brandon Moore vs Bryant Jennings Preview August 29th, 2026
Former heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania continues his comeback this Saturday, August 29th when he takes on Brandon Moore of Lakeland, Florida. This is just Jennings’ fourth fight since 2019. He was last in the ring in June when he beat Robert Simms by a wide eight-round unanimous decision. Moore last saw action in September when he beat DeAndre Savage by a wide 10-round unanimous decision to defend his IBF USBA Title and also dropped him in the seventh round. This week’s 10-rounder from Detroit, Michigan can be seen live on Wynnrecordsnetwork.com. Jennings began his comeback in May when he stopped Devonte Williams in 146 seconds. His previous outing came in August, 2024 when he beat Joel Caudle via an eight-round unanimous decision. That was Jennings’ first fight since July, 2019 when he dropped a 12-round unanimous decision to Joe Joyce in England. It was his second straight defeat as he was stopped in the 12th round by Oscar Rivas and lost his IBF International, and WBO NABO Heavyweight Titles six months earlier.

The 32-year-old Moore made his pro debut in 2020 following his amateur days and has just 88 rounds of experience under his belt. He makes the ring walk with a mark of 19-1 with 10 Ko’s. As an amateur he qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials and won the Florida Golden Gloves Championships. At one point he was reportedly ranked a top-five American amateur heavyweight. Moore measures 6-feet-6-inches tall with an unlisted reach and is known for a fine jab and strong right hand.
As far as power goes, he’s just above average as 52.6 per cent of his wins have come by stoppage and he’s halted two of his last eight opponents. His lone pro defeat came at the hands of Richard Torrez Jr when he was stopped in the fifth round in 2024 for the vacant NABF Jr. Heavyweight Title. Moore won the vacant WBC USA Silver Belt in 2021 when he halted Elvis Garcia in the fourth round. He added the vacant NABF Jr. Heavyweight Title in 2023 with an eight-round unanimous decision over Robert Simms.
Moore then captured the IBF USBA Belt in 2025 when Skylar Lacy was disqualified in the eighth round for pushing Moore through the ropes. Lacy had three points deducted earlier in the fight for holding. He also has wins over Stanley Wright, Miguel Viloria, Elijah McCall, Rodney Moore and Terrell Jamal Woods. Moore also fought an eight-round no-contest with Curtis Harper in 2022.
Jennings is now 41 years old and enters the ring with a mark of 27-4 with 15 Ko’s. His four defeats as a pro came at the hands of Joe Joyce and Oscar Rivas in 2019. He also dropped a 12-round unanimous decision to former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 in a shot at the IBF/IBO/WBO belts. Luis Ortiz then stopped him in the seventh round in his very next fight eight months later for the interim WBA Heavyweight Title. Jennings rebounded by winning five of his next six fights with four of them coming by KO.
However, he basically faced journeymen during that span and was then stopped by Rivas and lost to Joyce. Jennings stands 6-feet-3-inches tall with an 84-inch reach so he gives up three inches in height to Moore. His long arms typically allow him to keep his opponents at bay with a stiff jab and are also quite useful defensively. He often doesn’t let his hands go enough for the physical attributes that he owns though. He usually waits too long to go on the attack and that’s what hurt him against Klitschko and several other opponents.
After turning pro back in 2010, Jennings has fought 189 rounds since. Just 55.6 per cent of his wins have been by stoppage and he’s halted just two of his last eight opponents. His best victories have been against the likes of Alexander Dimitrenko, Joey Dawejko, Artur Szpilka, Mike Perez, Steve Collins, Chris Koval, Andrey Fedosov, Bowie Tupou, Siarhei Liakhovich and Maurice Byarm. Jennings didn’t get involved in boxing until later in life. He had a short amateur career with a reported mark of 13-4. He was a national Golden Gloves runner up in 2009 and has also won the USBA Heavyweight Crown as a pro.
Prediction…
Moore has the height advantage and is nine years younger than Jennings. However Jennings definitely has the edge in experience and has faced far tougher opposition. Jennings used to be his own worst enemy as he was often too cautious in the ring even though he possesses the tools of an elite boxer. He needs to let his hands go to utilize his skills and power. If he does, he has a chance against Moore. This is a good test for Jennings to see where he stands. If he can’t beat Moore then there’s not really any reason to continue with his comeback. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and go with Jennings in a tough, very close battle.
Jennings has the advantage in experience.
