Conor McGregor is making his return to the octagon at UFC 229 this Saturday, almost two years removed from when he became the two division champion by knocking out Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. This time Conor is coming back looking to regain his lightweight belt, which was stripped for inactivity, and subsequently won by Khabib Nurmagomedov. These two have a history with the beef boiling over with the dolly throwing incident at UFC 223. Conor’s return is must see TV to begin with, but the feud with Khabib, and the belief some have that Khabib is unbeatable, make this fight the biggest of the year.
McGregor opened as a +175 favorite before being bet down to the +150, where he sits today. I would not be surprised if a lot more money came in on Conor closer to the fight, pushing this down to close to a pick’em. I for one think Conor has a great chance to win this fight and I believe a pick’em is more where the odds should be.
