After nearly a decade of failed negotiations, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet on Friday, December 11th at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The all-British heavyweight showdown will have the vacant WBA “Super” Heavyweight World title on the line and will be broadcast live worldwide on Netflix at no extra cost to subscribers.
Tyson Fury is a 38-year-old British heavyweight with a professional record of 36-2-1 (25 KOs). The former two-time unified heavyweight champion’s only losses came in back-to-back decisions to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. Fury came out of retirement in April with a unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, then stopped Mariusz Wach in the 7th round in Pattaya, Thailand this past July.
Anthony Joshua is a 37-year-old British heavyweight with a professional record of 30-4 (27 KOs). A two-time unified heavyweight champion, Joshua has won two straight since his 2024 knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, stopping Jake Paul in the 6th round last December and recovering from two first-round knockdowns to knock out Kristian Prenga in the 2nd round in Jeddah this July.
Fury enters as the favorite thanks to his size, ring IQ, and history of solving power punchers, but Joshua is a live dog. He holds the edge in knockout power, with five of his last six wins coming inside the distance, while Fury is 38 and coming off two losses to Usyk and a 16-month retirement before this year’s comeback. This is one of the biggest fights in British boxing history and a true legacy fight for both men.
