My Pick
The 28-year-old Iglesias resides in Berlin, Germany but basically fights out of Montreal, Canada. He makes the ring walk with a perfect mark of 15-0 with 14 Ko’s and has just 59 rounds of experience under his belt. He made his pro debut in 2019 following a successful and extensive amateur career. Iglesias won a silver medal at four straight Cuban National Championships from 2015 to 2018 and also participated in the World Series of Boxing in 2017. He reportedly went 184-16 as an amateur
It’s obvious that he has excellent power in his punches as he boasts a current knockout ratio of 93.3 per cent. He has gone the distance just once as a pro when Isaac Chilemba took him 12 rounds in May 2022 when Iglesias captured the vacant IBO International Super Middleweight Belt. In his previous bout four months earlier, Iglesias won the vacant IBO World Youth Super Middleweight Crown by stopping Robert Racz in just 145 seconds. The Cuban has good size for the 168 lb division as he stands just over 6-feet-2-inches with a reported 74.5-inch reach.
Like most elite Cuban boxers, Iglesias possesses polished skills to go along with his tremendous power. He also has wins over Sena Agbeko, Marcelo Coceres, Arthur Reis, Andrii Velikovskyi, Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna and Rafael Sosa Pintos. He won the IBO world Belt in November, 2024 by halting Pedro Ivanov in five rounds. Iglesias has a fan-friendly style with six first-round knockouts and has recorded three in the second round. He’s currently ranked the second-best super middleweight in the world by Ring Magazine behind Canelo Alvarez.
As for Zaren, he’s just 26 years old and boasts a near- perfect mark as he’s 19-0-1 with 8 Ko’s. He has 96 rounds of experience to his name since turning pro in 2019 as a 19-year-old and is trained by former world champion Mikkel Kessler. As an amateur he reportedly won 30 of 40 fights and was a four-time Danish National Champion. The lone blemish on his pro record is the technical draw in his last contest. He measures just over 6-feet-1-inch tall but unfortunately has an unlisted reach. Therefore he gives up an inch in height to Iglesias.
Zaren isn’t known for his power as his current knockout ratio clocks in at just 42.1 per cent However he has stopped six of his last nine opponents. Known as ‘The Great Dane,’ he has never fought outside of Europe as a pro and he’s faced domestic and European level opposition throughout his career. Most of his opponents wouldn’t be recognized by the average boxing fan and just 11 of his 20 foes entered the ring with a winning record. Zaren captured the vacant IBF Inter-Continental Super Middleweight Crown in October, 2025 via a 10-round unanimous decision over Ante Bilic. However he’s taking a huge step up in class this Thursday night.
Prediction…
Iglesias possesses exceptional power while Zaren, who is ranked fifth in the world by the IBF, is below average in that department. This means The Great Dane will need to try to keep the aggressive Iglesias of off him as much as possible try to earn some respect with his boxing skills. I don’t really think that’s going to happen though and the quicker and more powerful Iglesias definitely has the edge here. The only question is will it go the distance? Regardless, Iglesias is eventually going to have to step up his level of opposition to prove he’s an elite boxer. Most super middleweights don’t want anything to do with him and that’s not good for the sport and the fans.
Iglesias will be too powerful and quick for Zaren.
