My Pick
Amanda Serrano is a 37-year-old southpaw who owns a fine record of 49-4-1 with 32 Ko’s and has 268 rounds of experience under her belt since turning pro in 2009. She also has combat experience in wrestling and mixed martial arts. Serrano stands just over 5-feet-5-inches tall with a 65.5-inch reach and has above-average power in her fists as 65.3 per cent of her wins have been by stoppage but she has gone the distance in 10 of her last 12 fights and in 12 of the past 18.
Serrano is a former Staten Island, New York City Golden Gloves, and Empire State Amateur Champion and has won numerous regional and minor pro titles. Since turning pro, she’s also captured the WBC and IBO Featherweight Titles as well as the IBF World Female Super Featherweight, WBO World Female Lightweight, WBO World Female Super Bantamweight, WBO World Female Bantamweight, WBO World Female Super Lightweight, and WBO World Female Super Flyweight Titles. In total, she’s won titles across seven different weight divisions.
Her first defeat came at the hands of Frida Walberg in 2012 when she lost by a 10-round unanimous decision in a shot at the WBC World Female Super Featherweight Title. Serrano dropped a 10-round majority decision to Katie Taylor in their trilogy match in July, 2025 with Taylor’s three super lightweight titles on the line. The two first met in 2022 with Taylor winning a hotly-disputed split decision to retain her IBF, WBC and WBO Lightweight Titles. Serrano and Taylor then met in a rematch in November, 2024 with Taylor once again winning a highly-controversial decision, this time a unanimous nod with scores of 95-94 across the board despite being deducted a point for headbutting in the eighth round. Serrrano’s her draw came in 2009 in a four-round affair with Ela Nunez.
She also has wins over Reina Tellez, Sarah Mahfoud, Erika Cruz Hernandez, Kimberly Connor, Fatuma Zarika (twice), Calista Silgado, Yazmin Rivas, Dahianna Santana (twice), Marilyn Hernandez, Eva Voraberger, Daniela Bermudez and Yamileth Mercardo. Serrano has lost just three times in the last 13 years over a span of 37 fights with all three defeats coming at the hands of Taylor. All of her victories have come by way of stoppage or unanimous decision except for her pro debut which was a four-round majority decision over Jackie Trivilino.
Manzur is 27 years old and makes the ring walk with a mark of 14-4 with 7 Ko’s. She made her pro debut in 2020 and has 97 rounds of experience under her belt since. Manzur measures 5-feet-2-inches tall but unfortunately has an unlisted reach. Therefore she gives up 3.5-inches in height to Serrano. She also packs a pretty good punch as 50 per cent of her wins have come by stoppage including two of her last four. Her first defeat came at the hands of Maria Ines Ferreyra by way of a fifth-round TKO in 2022.
She dropped a 10-round split decision to Estefania Karen Alaniz in 2023 for the vacant Argentine Super Featherweight Title and then lost her second straight fight when Karen Carbajal beat her two months later by unanimous decision for the vacant South American Super Featherweight Title. Also in 2023, Manzur was halted by Daniela Bermudez in the third round in a shot at the Argentine Featherweight Crown. Manzur captured the vacant South American Featherweight Title in 2024 with a unanimous nod over Laura Griffa.
Later in 2024 she stopped Paola Benavidez in the sixth round to add the vacant Argentine Featherweight Belt and she then beat Marcela Eliana Acuna via a 10-round unanimous decision to defend her two titles and also add the vacant WBO Latino Featherweight Title. This will be Manzur’s first fight outside of her homeland of Argentina and Serrano will be her tenth opponent out of 19 to enter the ring with a winning record.
Prediction…
Serrano is naturally aggressive but she’s now 37 years old and facing an opponent who also possesses quite a bit of power and is 10 years her junior. However Manzur has been stopped in two of her four defeats and has struggled when stepping up in class. Serrano will have to work hard on Friday but her experience should lead to victory as long as she punches in volume and stays on the front foot. I’m not sure if she’s going to break Christy Martin’s knockout record but a well-timed flurry of punches could lead to a stoppage with Manzur still on her feet.
Serrano’s aggressiveness and experience should be enough for a win.
