Keyshawn Davis vs Nahir Albright Preview May 16th, 2026

Former amateur star and WBO Lightweight Champion Keyshawn Davis is putting his unbeaten record on the line this Saturday, May 16th to take on Nahir Albright of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a rematch. Albright last boxed in February when he battled to a 10-round draw with Frank Martin. In his previous outing last June, Albright beat Keyshawn’s brother Kelvin Davis by a 10-round majority decision for the vacant WBC USA Silver Junior Welterweight Title. Albright and Keyshawn Davis first met in October, 2023 with Davis winning a 10-round majority decision to retain his WBC USA and WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Titles. However the result was changed to a no-contest after Davis tested positive for marijuana. Davis last fought in January when he stopped Jamaine Ortiz in the 12th round in his junior welterweight debut. In his previous outing he halted Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round to win the WBO Lightweight Title. This weekend’s fight from Davis’s hometown of Norfolk, Virginia is a12-round junior welterweight contest and can be seen live in most nations on DAZN.

My Pick

The 27-year-old Davis enters the fight with a perfect record of 14-0 with 10 Ko’s and has fought 96 rounds since making his pro debut in February, 2021. Davis enjoyed a superb amateur career which saw him win silver medals at the 2019 Pan American Games, the 2019 World Championships, and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan as a lightweight, losing to Cuba’s Andy Cruz in the final of each of those tournaments. Davis stands 5-feet-9-inches tall with a 70-inch reach and has had no problem adapting to pro boxing when it comes to power as he currently owns a knockout ratio of 71.4 per cent with his last three wins coming by stoppage.

The only opponents to go the distance with him so far have been Jose Meza, who went six rounds in May, 2021 but lost every round in a unanimous decision defeat; Juan Carlos Burgos in December, 2022 who also lost every round; Francisco Patera in July, 2023, who went 10 rounds but was dropped in the eighth and managed to win just one round on one judge’s scorecard and Miguel Madueno, who won just one round on all three scorecards in July 2024. Of course, Albright also went the full 10 rounds and with Davis and earned a draw with one judge in October, 2023 but that majority-decision win for Davis was changed to a no-contest after he tested positive for marijuana.

Exceptional speed and power are what Davis brings to the ring. Understandably, he was brought along somewhat cautiously to kick off his career but each opponent he’s faced entered the ring with a winning record. He took a step up in class by facing former world champion Jose Pedraza in 2024 and stopped him in the sixth round to win the vacant IBF USBA Belt. Davis won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Belt with his win over Burgos in 2022 and then picked up the vacant WBC USA Belt when he stopped Anthony Yigit. He then halted Gustavo Lemos in the second round to defend his WBO Inter-Continental and WBC USA Lightweight Belts and win the vacant IBF Inter-Continental crown.

Albright is 30 years old and climbs through the ring ropes with a mark of 17-2-1 with 7 Ko’s. He turned pro back in 2016 after a good amateur career and has 119 rounds of experience under his belt since. He measures 5-feet-8-inches tall with a 70.5-inch reach for a half-inch reach advantage on Davis while giving up an inch in height. When it comes to power, Albright is considered to be below average as just 41.2 per cent of his wins have come by way of stoppage and he’s gone the distance in seven of his past eight outings.

Albright was beaten in his pro debut as he dropped a four-round majority decision to Anthony Lauerano in 2016 and didn’t lose again until February, 2022 when he lost a 10-round unanimous decision to Jamaine Ortiz in a shot at the vacant NABF Lightweight Title. Other than Ortiz and Davis, Albright hasn’t really beaten any other recognizable opponents with his biggest wins coming over Carlos Balderas, Michael Dutchover and Estivan Falcao. He also beat Jeremy Hill by eight-round unanimous decision in July, 2021 for the NABA USA Lightweight Title. Albright has also been competing in the Team Boxing League competition since 2023, which features one-round contests.

Prediction…

Davis possesses fantastic boxing skills and speed and doesn’t really rely on his power to win, but it’s always there. Albright isn’t known as a heavy-handed boxer but is always competitive and gave Davis all he could handle in their first fight. Davis knows what to expect this time around however and while Albright may once again be a thorn in his side, I’m expecting Davis to prevail.

Davis is a level above Albright at this stage of their careers.
