Women’s MMA legends Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano are coming out of retirement to headline an event on Saturday, May 16th at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The event will be available to view on Netflix.
Ronda Rousey was considered to be the greatest women’s mixed martial artist of all-time during her reign. She was a dominant fighter, winning her first six fights in the UFC, with five of the wins coming in the first 1 minute and 6 seconds of the first round. She then lost to Holly Holm by head kick, and came back the following year to get completely outclassed by Amanda Nunes, losing that fight in 48 seconds and disappearing from the sport. It will be almost a decade since Rousey’s last fight when she takes on Carano.
Gina Carano was the first major star in women’s MMA. She finished her career with a 7-1 record, with her final fight being a TKO loss to Cris Cyborg for the inaugural Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Championship. That fight took place in August of 2009, so it will be almost 17 years since Carano last fought when she steps into the cage with Rousey.
Neither fighter has earned a win since their first loss, so it will be nice to see either fighter get their hand raised again. On this page I’ve outlined the odds for the Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano fight and provided a simple three step guide you can follow to bet on the MMA fight online.
