Gabriela Fundora vs Alexas Kubicki Preview September 20th, 2025

Undefeated and undisputed Flyweight Champion Gabriela ‘Sweet Poison’ Fundora of Palm Beach, Florida will be defending her belts (WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF) this Saturday, September 20th when she meets Alexas Kubicki of Canada. The 10-round bout from Indio, California, can be seen live in most nations on DAZN. Fundora captured the IBF title in October, 2023 when she stopped Arely Mucino in the fifth round and defended it three months later by halting Christina Cruz in the 10th round. She then beat Daniela Asenjo by decision in August, 2024 and became the undisputed champ by stopping Gabriela Celeste Alaniz in the seventh round in November. She defended her titles by stopping Marilyn Badillo Amaya in the seventh round in her last outing in April. Kubicki last fought in May when she beat Alondra Yamile Hernandez Mendoza via a 10-round unanimous decision to win the WBC International Flyweight Title.

Here are the betting odds from online sportsbook BetOnline.ag (full review here).

  • Alexas Kubicki +850
  • Gabriela Fundora -1600

My Pick

Fundora is just 23 years old and is the youngest undisputed champion in boxing. She carries around a perfect record of 16-0 with 8 Ko’s to her name for a current knockout ratio of 50 per cent. She’s boxed 101 rounds since making her pro debut in 2021 after an amateur career which saw her reach the semifinals of the 2018 USA Youth Women’s National Championships. She also won the 2018 USA Women’s Junior Olympics Final and 2017 USA Women’s Junior Open Final. Fundora is the sister of current WBC and WBO Junior Middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora.

Gabriela, who fights out of Coachella, California, is a southpaw who stands 5-feet-9-inches with a reported 69-inch reach and has stopped four of her past five opponents. She won the vacant WBC Latino Flyweight Crown in October, 2022 with a 10-round unanimous decision over Naomi Arrelano Reyes and added the vacant WBC Youth Flyweight Belt four months later with another 10-round unanimous decision, this time over Tania Garcia Hernandez. She also has wins over Nataly Delgado, Estrella Velverde, Lucia Hernandez Nunez and Maria Michio Santizo.

Kubicki is actually younger than Fundora as she’s only 22 years old. She makes the ring walk with a fine mark of 13-1 with 2 Ko’s and has 102 rounds of experience under her belt since turning pro in 2022. She hails from Slave Lake, Alberta and reached the quarterfinals of the Olympic Trials in 2023 as well as the Final of the 2021 Youth Women’s World Championship. Kubicki has Polish heritage and won the 2020 EUBC European Youth Championships and the 2018 Polish Women`s Junior National Championships 48 kg Final.

There’s no height and reach information for Kubicki and she’s a late replacement in this fight as Fundora was originally scheduled to meet Argentina’s Ayelen “Piru” Granadino. However she had problems acquiring a visa and Kubicki stepped in to take her place. The lone pro loss on Kubicki’s record came at the hands of Linda Contreras Ibarra by eight-round unanimous decision in 2023 and rebounded by winning her next seven fights.

With just two Ko’s to her name, Kubicki has little power as just 15.4 per cent of her wins have come by stoppage. She won the vacant WIBA World Flyweight and NABF Titles in May, 2024 with a 10-round unanimous nod over Silvia Duran. Four months later she captured the vacant WBC Youth Flyweight Belt with an eight-round unanimous decision over Clothilde Del Ben and added the WBC International Title in her last outing with her 10-round unanimous decision over Alondra Yamile Hernandez Mendoza.

Prediction…

Kubicki is a fine young prospect but she lacks power and will be taking a big leap in class against Fundora, who has very good power for the female division. This should be an interesting and competitive fight for a few rounds but I expect Fundora to eventually wear Kubicki down and likely stop her in the second half of the contest.

Fundora has more power and experience.
