Ukraine’s Serhii Bohachuk will be taking on Brandon Adams of Lynwood, California in a rematch this Saturday, September 13th, in a 10-round middleweight contest. The fight takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada and can be seen live in most nations on Netflix or YouTube on the undercard of the Alvarez vs Crawford tilt. The two first met in 2021 with Adams stopping Bohachuk in the eighth round of a fight Bohachuk was handily winning on the scorecards to win the WBC Continental Americas Junior Middleweight Belt. Bohachuk won the vacant interim WBC Junior Middleweight Belt via a wide unanimous decision over Brian Mendoza in March of last year but then lost it via a controversial majority decision to Vergil Ortiz Jr in August even though he dropped Ortiz in the first and eighth rounds. His last fight took place in May when he beat Mykal Fox by a 10-round unanimous decision. Adams last saw action in November when he dropped a 10-round split decision to Andreas Katzourakis.

The 30-year-old Bohachuk fights out of Los Angeles, California and makes the ring walk with an impressive record of 26-2 with 24 of those wins coming by stoppage for a knockout ratio of 92.3 per cent in his victories. His first defeat was the eighth-round TKO to Adams in their first meeting with his second loss coming at the hands of Vergil Ortiz. Therefore, Bohachuk has gone the distance just three times as a pro and they were in three of his past four outings against Brian Mendoza, Ortiz and Mykal Fox. When Adams halted him in March, 2021, Bohachuk was comfortably ahead on all three scorecards at the time and Adams was deducted a point for low blows in the third round.
It’s quite obvious that Bohachuk has very good power and he’s had to fight just 125 rounds in 28 contests since making his pro debut in 2017. Before that he enjoyed a fine amateur career and competed in the World Series of Boxing for Ukraine. He was a silver medalist at the 2015 Ukrainian Championships and was a three-time national champion in the under-22 division. Bohachuk stands 6-feet-tall with a 73-inch reach and also has wins over Ishmael Davis, Freddy Hernandez, Fernando Marin, Tyrone Brunson, Alejandro Davila, Raphael Igbokwe and Nathaniel Gallimore. He’s also a two-time WBC Continental Americas Junior Middleweight Champion.
Adams is now 36 years old with a mark of 25-4 with 16 Ko’s and has boxed 145 rounds since making his pro debut in 2011. He measures 5-feet-8-inches tall with a 72-inch reach which sees him give up four inches in height and an inch in reach to Bohachuk. Adams has a decent chin as he’s been stopped just once when Apollo Thompson halted him in the second round in 2015 in a shot at the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Junior Middleweight Title.
His first defeat was by 10-round unanimous decision to Willie Monroe Jr in 2014 in an attempt at the vacant WBO NABO and North American Boxing Association Middleweight Titles. Adams dropped a unanimous decision to Jermall Charlo in 2019 in an shot at the WBC World Middleweight Belt and was beaten in his last contest by Andreas Katzourakis. His biggest wins have come against Daniel Edouard, Raymond Gatica, Alex Perez, Tyrone Brunson, Shane Mosley Jr and Ismael Villarreal.
Prediction…
Bohachuk has very good power and is quite relentless in the ring as he just keeps pushing forwards in his fights. Adams has a decent chin and of course has beaten Bohachuk but he’s now 36 years of age and likely in the twilight of his career. As long as Bohachuk lets his hands go I expect him to avenge his defeat to Adams and a stoppage wouldn’t come as a surprise really.
Bohachuk’s non-stop pressure and motivation should result in a win.
