Euro 2012 BettingThe Euro 2012 soccer tournament kicks off in just over a week and the anticipation is starting to heat up.  Can Spain defend their title from 2008 and make history as the first team to win 3 major International competitions in a row?  Or will Germany, the finalists of Euro 2008, or the Netherlands, the finalists of World Cup 2010, finally bridge the gap and dethrone the Spanish?  Or will another European team surprise everyone and win the tournament.  If you know the answer to this you should be betting on Euro 2012 right now to cash in and make some money.

Euro 2012 Prediction

In mine and most analysts opinions this tournament will more than likely be won by one of three nations: Spain, Germany and Holland. Spain is in a fairly easy group and should have no trouble winning Group C and advancing past the group stage. Germany and Holland on the other hand are both in the very difficult group B that includes themselves, the always dangerous Portugal and Denmark, a team that definitely poses a threat. When you look at each of these 4 teams Euro 2012 winner odds you should bump them up slightly to find how goo the oddsmakers actually feel they are because the odds are lengthened due to the difficulty of the group. One slip up from either Germany and Holland in the group stage and they will be eliminated from the tournament early.

That being said you cannot discount a team simply based on their difficult group. If Germany or the Dutch get out of their group they will be up against a fairly easy quarterfinal because the Group A teams are quite weak (Russia and Poland are predicted to escape their group). Then either team will be in the semi-finals and from there it is just two more wins for the title.

If Holland can escape their group of death I like their chances at +735 odds. The team is almost exactly the same as it was in 2010 when they matched Spain for the entire match before a series of strange events (missed corner kick by the ref followed by a defender slipping when pulling up the defensive line) resulted in the only goal of the game. This is likely the last tournament that this core will be together and I expect them to come ready to play. The first game of the tournament is huge for them and if they can defeat Denmark it should set the tone for a very deep run in this tournament.
