Norwich City welcome Manchester City to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon, and are desperate for a result to claw themselves from the relegation zone. Manchester City have a fledgling title challenge to resurrect so they too need all three points from this weekend’s Premier League clash. The Sky Blues have dominated Norwich in the majority of their head-to-heads, and will be spearheaded by a striker who can’t stop scoring in this fixture. Norwich risk losing ground in the relegation battle if the come unstuck, but their recent form suggests they stand little chance of an upset.

Norwich City could be in worse form to face a side of Manchester City’s calibre. The Canaries have gone nine games without a win in the Premier League, and such a poor run has seen them drop into the bottom three with nine games remaining. Alex Neil’s side just can’t stem the tide of goals coming their way, and they haven’t managed a clean sheet in the division since early January.
Norwich lost to Manchester City earlier in the season, and were comprehensively beat at home to the Sky Blues in January (Capital One Cup) so it’s hard to see anything other than an away win this weekend. Head-to-head meetings between the two sides has seen Manchester City win six of their last eight Premier League games against the Canaries, and a recent upturn in form could better boost their chances of delivering at Carrow Road.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are coming off the back of a 4-0 win against Aston Villa in the Premier League, responding brilliantly after a fatigued showing against Liverpool. They won away to Dinamo Kiev in the Champions League in late February, and actually had a respectable run of league results away from home prior to the Liverpool defeat – winning two and drawing two of their last four. They will be spearheaded by striker Sergio Aguero, who has scored six goals in his six meetings with Norwich, winning five.
Manchester City should have too much for Norwich City this weekend, and I fully expect the Sky Blues to ruin riot as a result. The firepower at the visitors’ disposal should see them delivering an emphatic scoreline to boost their own slim title hopes, while solidifying their top-four spot in the Premier League. Should Manuel Pellegrini’s side perform as expected, they could confine Norwich to their fourth consecutive defeat, while potentially seeing them finish the weekend four points adrift of safety.
