The most anticipated group match at these European Championships is set to take place on Wednesday and with the Dutch loss to Denmark in their opening round match, this battle of the best has just become even more important for Holland and likely a more exciting game for fans due to the fact that the Dutch have to go into the game with the mindset of anything less than a win not being good enough.
Germany vs Holland Prediction
5Dimes.eu almost always provides the most bettor friendly odds for the matches at Euro 2012, which is why they are our recommended sportsbook for betting on this match. Here are the match winner odds for this game:
As you can see Germany is the favorite to win this game and with the Dutch being forced to press for the win the Germans could have several chances on the counter attack. The Dutch defense also looked suspect against the Danes and if they don’t tighten up in this next game the Germans will be sure to make the Dutch pay.
That being said Holland has the quality up front to score goals against this tough German team. They are probably one of the few teams in the tournament that can actually cause problems for the German defenders. The Holland players know what is on the line and will do everything they can to get the win in this tough game. I expect to see more of Hunterlaar in this game as van Persie did not look great in Hollands first game, while Hunterlaar had one of the best chances in limited playing time.
At these odds I like the Dutch to somehow find a way to win. They will probably have to score more than one goal to win the game, but with Arjen Robben, Huntelaar and Sneijder playing at the top of their games this is definitely a good possibility. A draw is unlikely due to the ramifications for the Dutch, but with their backs against the wall I expect a big game out of Holland.

5Dimes also offers a wide variety of other betting options such as the over/under for the game and many prop bets. At 5Dimes they offer odds on a variety of over/unders, but I like the over 2.5 goals scored at -102 in this game. I can not see the Dutch being held scoreless again and the Dutch having to open up will allow the Germans to get at least 1.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the Dutch German game is after Portugal and Denmark do battle on Wednesday. The outcome of that game will likely not affect how the Dutch play against Germany, but if Portugal wins over Denmark it may be in the back of the Dutch players minds that a draw may be good enough to earn them second place if they can beat Portugal in their third game and Germany beats Denmark. That being said knowing the Dutch players quality they will likely not want to put their fate in the hands of the Germans and the only way to do that is to win both of their next two games.
