San Diego Padres vs. Philadelphia Phillies April 11 Free Pick

By MLB

Welp, baseball has been back for a week – that’s long enough to live purely. And now it’s time to fire away. Nothing says welcome back to the action like a Monday matinee between the Padres and Phillies at Citizens Bank.

If you’re new here, welcome. My name is Evan and I love to bet the under. We’ve had some decent success here over the last two years I’ve been handicapping and writing my picks at SBL, though did experience some decline last year making picks from a position I served (and still serve) in Uganda. Regardless of where, I will continue to make picks here and expect to finish with something following a plus. Look out for about 10 plays a month, a majority of which will be unders, just like Monday.nola

The two worst lineups in baseball will get together for a mid-April series in Philadelphia tomorrow and I’m pleasantly surprised at the juicy 8.0 that the oddsmakers have opened this one at. Both Aaron Nola and Andrew Cashner who shouldn’t sweat too much to put a quality start together. Nola picked up right where he left off in the last two months of last season with seven really good innings against Cincinnati. Cashner got hit around a little bit against the Dodgers, which doesn’t mean much as far as how anyone should expect him to throw against the hometown Phils.

It’s early, especially for two lineups with so many young players we’ve yet to have much of a chance to scrutinize. But both guys on the mound feel like pretty safe shots in this one. And with a healthy 8.0 I believe there’s very little chance we’ll get off to an 0-1 start here. This one feels like a push at worst. Time to get this thing rolling.
