The Breeders Cup, which is the two-day culmination of the horse racing season, begins today (Friday, October 31st) at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in California. This years event features 14 races, over the two days, with $30 million in purses to be won by the best horses from this past season. The event’s main race takes place in prime-time on Saturday evening with the $7 Million Breeders Cup Classic showcasing the fastest horses in the world on NBC at 6:25pm ET.
In this years Breeders Cup Classic there are several contenders with a legitimate chance of winning the race. Sovereignty was the morning line favorite with odds of 6/5, but he was forced to withdraw due to a fever. The race is now wide open with Fierceness (4/1) and Forever Young (6/1) having the two shortest morning line odds in this 9 horse field.
Fierceness had an up and down year winning 2 of his 4 entered races, including most recently winning the Pacific Classic at the end of August.

#3. Place Your Breeders Cup Bets
