Travelers Championship Betting Picks

By Golf

The Travelers Championship is the last event before the Olympics kicks off next week. Golf will be played at the Olympics for the first time since 1904. It will be a stroke play championship and will be contested between the leading golfers of every nation that are available to play. Many that played last week at the PGA Championship will be competing. What a tournament it was as Jimmy Walker made sure that all the majors this year were won by those that had never won a major before. This week promises to throw up some great entertainment as Bubba Watson returns to defend the title he won here last year. The course is TPC River Highlands and measures 6, 841 yards and plays as a par 70. Not the longest course around and it doesn’t take much imagination to see how Watson won here last year. Being able to play a short iron into the greens will make a big difference and should favor Watson again. It is a course though that will offer a lot to all that play it. With the Olympics taking center stage next week, this is one of the last chances to gain Ryder Cup and FedEx Cup points. With a fairly watered down field, it provides a great chance for a relatively unknown name to win.

Bubba Watson (+1200 BetOnline.ag)

The defending champion is all set up to defend the Travelers Championship. Watson is in good form and knows how to get it done at TPC River Highlands. Playing in the Olympics next week could mean he has one eye on a gold medal but if he’s focused and ready this week, there is a great chance that the big hitting Watson will keep the Travelers Championship trophy.

Jon Rahm (+2500 BetOnline.ag)

This exciting youngster turned pro earlier this year and  has almost won a million dollars in only a handful of events. His first win can’t be far off and he is beginning to make a real name for himself. This shinning light has a great chance to get that first win under the belt as some of the bigger names sit out this week.

Zach Johnson (+2500 BetOnline.ag)

Zach Johnson is a superb short iron player and will no doubt be eyeing up his chances at TPC River Highlands this week. Johnson is without a win this year and has a fantastic chance to change that this week. He finished in 6th position last year and has all it takes to be on top of the pile come Sunday afternoon.
