PGA Championship Betting Picks

By Golf

The PGA Championship will take place this week at the Quail Hollow Club which measures 7, 600 yards and plays as a par 71. All storylines point to Jordan Spieth as the PGA Championship is the only thing separating him from a career grand slam. If he wins this week he will create history as he becomes the youngest player to win the grand slam. Standing in his way will be last years champion Jimmy Walker who returns to try and defend the only major he has won. The Quail Hollow Club is notoriously long and requires great ball striking to bring it to it’s knees. The longer hitters will go in as favorites and should dominate a field that has 113 out of 115 of the top players in the world. Only Martin Kaymer and Scott Piercy miss out. The final major of the year could go many ways and despite the PGA Championship being seen as the less prestigious of the four majors, there is an added element of excitement and expectation riding on this one. It feels like now will be as good as any time for Jordan Spieth to win the grand slam. If the young Texan does go on to do it then the golfing world may well witness a career of one of the all time greats. All eyes will be on him as he tries to rewrite the history books.

Thomas Pieters (+5000 BetOnline.ag)

The big hitting Belgian will love the layout at the Quail Hollow Club and should put in a big showing this week. The length of the course won’t be a problem as Pieters is as long as they come. Pieters also has a big match temperament and won’t crumble under the pressure of being in contention at a major.

Rickie Fowler (+1400 BetOnline.ag)

Rickie Fowler had a great week at Firestone Country Club last week and finished in ninth place. Fowler is still searching for his first major and is coming into this week’s one in great form.

Jordan Spieth (+900 BetOnline.ag)

There is every possibility that Spieth will write his name into golfing folklore history this week. He would have prepared well and has momentum on his side. With a few breaks and good bounces Spieth could win the grand slam this weekend.
