Louisville @ Pittsburgh (Week 7 Preview & Prediction)
The #16 ranked Cardinals (5-0) hit the road this Saturday at Heinz Field to take on the Panthers (2-3) in what could be the biggest Big East showdown of the weekend. Head Coach Charlie Strong’s Cardinals are coming off a bye week where the previously defeated Southern Miss 21-17 in a downpour. The Panthers are heading back home off a road loss at Syracuse 14-13. The Panthers and new head coach Paul Chryst have been a streaky inconsistent bunch as they surprised everyone with a huge win over Virginia Tech after looking horrible on the road in a loss at Cincinnatti.
The Panthers are led by senior QB Tito Sunseri who has thrown for (1,463) yards and (8) touchdowns. The running game when clicking features great balance with veteran Ray Graham (419) yards and scat-back Rushel Shell (231) yards. The Panthers are 5-0 their last five ATS versus the Cardinals including last year’s 21-14 victory. The Cardinals are led by dynamic athletic sophomore QB Teddy Bridgewater who could pose problems for the Panthers with his feet as well as his arm. The Cardinals offense gets great balance in the run game from Jeremy Wright (406) yards and Senorise Perry (481) yards. The Cardinals offense has converted 38/68 3rd down conversions and are 5-1 SU in their last six road games.

History favors the Panthers in this contest and they are desperate at 0-2 in the conference but I just don’t trust them. You are never sure what Panther team will show up and I will back a more consistent bunch that has proven they can win on the road. QB Teddy Bridgewater will put a lot of pressure on the Panthers, don’t read too much into the last game against Southern Miss because the weather was horrible and it completely changed the play calling. Louisville has something special going on and I’m just not sold on a shaky Pittsburgh squad that has not found their identity under the new coaching regime. Prediction: Cardinals 30 Panthers 20
