Iowa @ Michigan State (Week 7 Preview & Prediction)

The Iowa Hawkeyes (3-2) travel to East Lansing Saturday to take on Michigan State (4-2) in a key Big Ten battle in the Legends Division. The host Spartans are coming off a 31-27 road win at Indiana this past Saturday which saw the Spartans outscore the Hoosiers 17-0 in the second half. This series has a history of close calls and this year should be no different. The Hawkeyes are coming off a bye after opening the conference season beating Minnesota 31-13. The Hawks got another solid rushing performance by sophomore Air Force transfer Mark Wiseman as he rambled for (177) yards and one score.

The Spartans are led by RB Le’Veon Bell who ran for (121) yards and two scores last week and QB Andrew Maxwell completed 24 of 40 passes for (290) yards and two touchdowns. The Spartans trailed 27-17 after three quarters and rallied in the fourth to earn the road victory. The Hawkeyes used their bye week to gain back the services of RB Damon Bullock who was sidelines with a concussion three weeks ago. Split-end Keenan Davis (6) receptions for (50) yards versus Minnesota is beginning to settle into new Hawkeye offensive coordinator Greg Davis system. Senior QB James Vandenberg will have to be steady for Iowa to come away victorious. The weatherman is calling for a 70% chance of rain which could help decide the outcome.

Iowa +10 @ Michigan State (Betting Prediction)

The Spartans were pretty hyped coming into the season and have played well at times but have not developed any consistency on offense. Entering Saturday’s contest the Spartans have lineup changes at right tackle, center, fullback and tight-end. The Spartans are also 2-2 at home this season so they are beatable. The Hawkeyes are 5-1 ATS in the last six in this series at Spartan Stadium. This will be a ball control field position type contest the first one to flinch or start turning the ball over will lose. This will be a four quarter battle, look for Iowa to empty the bag on offense against a veteran Spartan defense. The Spartans are 0-4 ATS their last four games make it 0-5. Hawkeyes 20 Spartans 17
