My Pick

The 30-year-old Bohachuk fights out of Los Angeles, California and makes the ring walk with an impressive record of 25-2 with 24 of those wins coming by stoppage for a knockout ratio of 96 per cent in his victories. His first defeat was by eighth-round TKO to Brandon Adams, so Bohachuk has gone the distance just twice as a pro and they were in two of his past three outings, against Brian Mendoza and Vergil Ortiz. When Adams halted him in March, 2021, Bohachuk was comfortably ahead on all three scorecards at the time after Adams was deducted a point for low blows in the third round.

It’s quite obvious that Bohachuk has remarkable power and he’s had to fight just 115 rounds in 27 contests since making his pro debut in 2017. Before that he enjoyed a fine amateur career and competed in the World Series of Boxing for Ukraine. He was a silver medalist at the 2015 Ukrainian Championships and was a three-time national champion in the under-22 division. Bohachuk stands 6-feet-tall with a 73-inch reach and also has wins over Freddy Hernandez, Fernando Marin, Tyrone Brunson, Alejandro Davila, Raphael Igbokwe and Nathaniel Gallimore. He’s also a two-time WBC Continental Americas Junior Middleweight Champion.

Fox is a 29-year-old southpaw with a mark of 24-4 with 5 Ko’s and has boxed 194 rounds since making his pro debut in 2014 following a brief amateur career. His height is unlisted but he has an 81-inch reach which gives him a huge eight-inch edge in that department over Bohachuk. Fox has a pretty good chin as he’s never been stopped and he’s going to need it, but he has been dropped several times before. His first defeat was to Shohjahon Ergashhev in 2019 by a 10-round unanimous decision.

His his second loss came to Luke Santamaria in 2020 by 10-round unanimous decision and he was beaten by Gabrielo Maestre by a 12-round unanimous decision in his next outing for his second loss in a row. His next contest was also a defeat as he dropped a 10-round unanimous decision to Egidijus Kavaliauskas in October, 2022. Fox didn’t return to the ring until July, 2024 when he beat Donald Ward by an eight-round unanimous decision for the Universal Boxing Organization Inter-Continental Welterweight Belt.

As far as power goes, Fox doesn’t possess much at all as just 20.9 per cent of his wins have come by stoppage. He hasn’t fared too well when stepping up in class as his biggest wins have come against the likes of DeMarcus Corley, Adam Mate, Ricardo Garcia, Eudy Bernardo and John Arellano. He captured the vacant Universal Boxing Federation All America Welterweight Title in 2017 via a 10-round unanimous decision over Manuel Reyes.

Prediction…

Bohachuk has exceptional power and is quite relentless as he just keeps pushing forwards in his fights. Fox has a decent chin but has been dropped but has never weighted in heavier than 149.75 lbs and this fight is in the 154-lb junior middleweight division. Fox may possess the better overall boxing skills by a slight margin but as long as Bohachuk lets his hands go I don’t think this will end well for Fox as he doesn’t have the power needed to keep Bohachuk off of him. I’m expecting this battle to end in a knockout for the Ukrainian.

Bohachuk’s non-stop pressure should result in a win.
