Marco Huck vs Vaclav Pejsar Preview Feb. 14th, 2026

Former IBO, WBO and European Cruiserweight Champion Marco Huck of Serbia returns to the ring once again as he takes on Vaclav Pejsar of Czechia this Saturday, February 14th. The 10-round cruiserweight bout from Germany can be seen live in most nations on DAZN. Huck last fought in June, 2024 when he beat Evgenios Lazaridis via a 10-round unanimous decision in a heavyweight tilt. It was his first fight since August, 2020 when he beat Dennis Lewandowski by a 10-round unanimous decision. Pejsar last boxed in November when he stopped Pavol Hrivnak in the sixth round to claim the Czech Cruiserweight Title. Huck is currently known as the joint-longest reigning cruiserweight champion in boxing annals with 13 straight defences of his WBO Belt from 2009 to 2015. After he lost the belt by 11th-round KO to in 2015 to Krzysztof Glowacki, Huck’s career became more sporadic as he took long layoffs and moved up to the heavyweight division for a few fights.

My Pick

Huck is now 41 years of age and fights out of Germany. He’ll climb through the ropes with a record of 43-5-1 with 28 Ko’s. He held the WBO Cruiserweight Belt from 2009 to 2015 and was one of the longest reigning cruiserweight world champions in history. He defended his title 13 straight times to set a division record which is shared by Johnny Nelson. Huck also held the IBO Cruiserweight title between 2016 and 2017 and was the European Champion from 2008 to 2009.

Huck has boxed 373 rounds since making his pro debut in 2004 and stands 6-feet-2-inches tall with a 77-inch reach. He competed in Taekwondo and Kickboxing as a 10-year-old and captured a gold medal at the W.A.K.O European Kickboxing Championships in 2002 and 2003. He then took up boxing at the age of 15. He’s aggressive in the ring and isn’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with anyone but has been stopped three times.

Steve Cunningham stopped him in the 12th round in 2007 in a shot at the IBF Cruiserweight Title with Krzysztof Glowacki halting him in 11 rounds in 2015 to take his WBO Cruiserweight Title. Oleksandr Usyk then stopped him in the 10th round in 2017 in the World Boxing Super Series and in a shot at the WBO Cruiserweight Belt. His first pro loss was a 12-round majority decision to Alexander Povetkin in 2012 when he moved up in weight to challenge for the WBA Heavyweight Title. His other defeat was to Mairis Briedis via a unanimous decision in an attempt at the vacant WBC Cruiserweight belt and he also lost his IBO title in that contest.

The lone draw on Huck’s record is a 12-round affair in his first of four meetings with Ola Afolabi in 2012. Huck’s biggest wins have been against Afolabi (three times), Firat Arslan (twice), Denis Lebedev, Brian Minto, Dmytro Kucher and Victor Ramirez. Huck is most effective when he fights on the inside and uses his aggression. He’s a heavy enough hitter as 65.1 per cent of his wins have been by stoppage. Huck’s style is fan friendly as he isn’t shy about slugging it out when he has to. He sometimes gets goaded into brawls however when he may be better off trying to use his boxing skills.

As for Pejsar, he’s also 41 years old and makes the ring walk with a mark of 26-22 with 21Ko’s and has boxed 231 rounds since making his pro debut in 2014. He measures just over 6-feet-1-inch tall with a 76-inch wingspan so gives up a minimal half-inch in height and one inch in reach to Huck. He’s been stopped six time in his 22 defeats so it’s safe to say he doesn’t have the most solid chin in the division. He was last halted in October when Oleksandr Hrytsiv beat him in 175 seconds.

There are simply too many losses on Pejsar’s record to list and he’s boxed his career mainly between the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions and is also a former Czech Heavyweight Beltholder. His record is 3-5 in his last five fights but on the other side of the coin he does possess pretty good power himself with 21 of his 26 wins coming by stoppage. His most recognizable opponents have been Pavel Sour, Jack Massey, Dmitry Kudryashov, Sergey Kuzmin, David Price, Andrii Rudenko and Tom Schwartz.

Prediction…

Huck has far more experience against tougher opposition as a pro but inactivity is a bit of a problem. On paper, it looks like this should be a complete mismatch but if Huck gets caught early by a power shot his night could end early. Huck has usually come up short when facing the cream of the crop in his division but Pejsar certainly doesn’t fall in that category. Huck is hoping to regain some of his former glory and earn a title shot but if he can’t get past Pejsar then his career is basically over. I’m expecting Huck to outwork and out land Pejsar in this comeback bout and a stoppage is a good possibility.

Huck has far more experience against tougher foes.
