Gabriela Fundora vs Viviana Ruiz Corredor Preview March 14th, 2026

Undefeated and undisputed Flyweight Champion Gabriela ‘Sweet Poison’ Fundora of Palm Beach, Florida will be defending her belts (WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF) this Saturday, March 14th when she meets Viviana Ruiz Corredor of Colombia. The 10-round bout from Anaheim, California, can be seen live in most nations on DAZN. Fundora captured the IBF title in October, 2023 when she stopped Arely Mucino in the fifth round and defended it three months later by halting Christina Cruz in the 10th round. She then beat Daniela Asenjo by decision in August, 2024 and became the undisputed champ by stopping Gabriela Celeste Alaniz in the seventh round in November. She defended her undisputed titles by stopping both Marilyn Badillo Amaya and Alexas Kubicki last year with her bout against Kubicki taking place in September. Corredor last saw action in April when she beat Maria Magdalena Rivera via a 10-round split decision.

My Pick
Fundora is just 23 years old and is the youngest undisputed champion in boxing. She carries around a perfect record of 17-0 with 9 Ko’s to her name for a current knockout ratio of 52.9 per cent. She’s boxed 108 rounds since making her pro debut in 2021 after an amateur career which saw her reach the semifinals of the 2018 USA Youth Women’s National Championships. She also won the 2018 USA Women’s Junior Olympics Final and 2017 USA Women’s Junior Open Final. Fundora is the sister of current WBC and WBO Junior Middleweight Champion Sebastian Fundora.
Gabriela, who fights out of Coachella, California, is a southpaw who stands 5-feet-9-inches with a reported 69-inch reach and has stopped five of her past six opponents. She won the vacant WBC Latino Flyweight Crown in October, 2022 with a 10-round unanimous decision over Naomi Arrelano Reyes and added the vacant WBC Youth Flyweight Belt four months later with another 10-round unanimous decision, this time over Tania Garcia Hernandez. She also has wins over Nataly Delgado, Estrella Velverde, Lucia Hernandez Nunez and Maria Michio Santizo.
Corredor is actually 20 years older than Fundora as she’s now 43 years old. She makes the ring walk with a mark of 10-2 with 5 Ko’s and has 72 rounds of experience under her belt since turning pro in 2021. She hails from Colombia but now fights out of Australia. She won the interim WBA Flyweight World Title with her split decision win over María Magdalena Rivera in her last outing. Corredor previously captured the WBA Oceania Flyweight Belt and successfully defended it in 2024. She didn’t start boxing until she was 32 years old and ended up in Australia.
As an amateur, Corredor made it to the semifinals of the 2019 Australian National Championships, reached the Final in 2017 and won it in 2015. At 5-feet-2-inches with a 62-inch reach, Corredor gives up seven inches in height and seven inches in reach to Fundora. She also has fine power, especially for the female division, as 50 per cent of her wins have come by stoppage. Her first career defeat came at the hands of Jacinta Austin via a four-round split decision in her second pro fight. She also dropped a 10-round unanimous decision to Louisa Hawton in 2024. Six of her 12 pro opponents entered the ring with a winning record.
Prediction…
Corredor has decent power and fine skills but she’s a full 20 years older than Fundora and hasn’t faced any of the world’s top females, so will be taking a step up in class. In addition, Fundora has a seven-inch edge in height and reach here. This could be an interesting and competitive fight for a few rounds but I believe the writing is on the wall and expect Fundora to eventually wear Corredor down and stop her. Betting on the round this ends is the best option.
Fundora has greater power and experience.
