Frank Martin vs Nahir Albright Preview Feb. 21St, 2026

Prospect Frank Martin of Detroit, Michigan steps back into the ring this Saturday, February 21st when he takes on Nahir Albright of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Albright last boxed in June when he beat Kelvin Davis by a 10-round majority decision for the vacant WBC USA Silver Junior Welterweight Title. In Albright’s previous outing he dropped a 10-round majority decision to Keyshawn Davis (Kelvin’s brother) in a shot at the WBC USA and WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Titles. However the result was changed to a no-contest after Davis tested positive for marijuana. Martin’s last battle took place in December when he stopped former IBF Lightweight Champion Rances Barthelemy of Cuba in the fourth round. The 10-round junior welterweight bout from Las Vegas, Nevada can be seen live on DAZN pay-per-view on the undercard of the Mario Barrios vs Ryan Garcia event.

  • Nahir Albright +222
  • Frank Martin -300

My Pick

The 31-year-old Martin is a southpaw who climbs through the ropes with a fine mark of 19-1 with 13 Ko’s and has 106 rounds of experience under his belt since making his pro debut in 2017. Before that he enjoyed a fine amateur career which saw him reach the 2016 USA National Championship Final and win the 2016 National Golden Gloves Tournament by beating Vergil Ortiz Jr in the final. He also made it to the Golden Gloves semifinals in 2015. Martin measures 5-feet-8-inches tall with a 68-inch reach and he has pretty good power in his fists as 68.4 per cent of his victories have come by stoppage.

However he has stopped just two of his past five opponents since July, 2022. He halted Jackson Marinez in the 10th round four years ago and stopped Barthelemy in his last contest. Martin took a big step up in class against Gervonta Davis in 2024 and was stopped in the eighth round for his lone defeat and failed to rise in the rankings. In his previous bout a year earlier, Martin beat Artem Harutyunyan via a 12-round unanimous decision and he also has wins over Jerry Perez, Ryan Kielczweski, Romero Duno, and Michel Rivera.

Albright is 30 years old and climbs through the ring ropes with a mark of 17-2 with 7 Ko’s. He turned pro back in 2016 after a good amateur career and has 109 rounds of experience under his belt since. He measures 5-feet-8-inches tall with a 70.5-inch reach for a 2.5-inch reach advantage on Martin. When it comes to power, Albright is considered to be just below average as just 41.2 per cent of his wins have come by way of stoppage and he’s gone the distance in six of his past seven outings.

Albright was beaten in his pro debut as he dropped a four-round majority decision to Anthony Lauerano in 2016 and didn’t lose again until February, 2022 when he lost a 10-round unanimous decision to Jamaine Ortiz in a shot at the vacant NABF Lightweight Title. Other than Ortiz and Davis, Albright hasn’t really beaten any other recognizable opponents with his biggest wins coming over Carlos Balderas, Michael Dutchover and Estivan Falcao. He also beat Jeremy Hill by eight-round unanimous decision in July, 2021 for the NABA USA Lightweight Title.

Prediction…

Martin has the edge in power here but Albright has faced some stiff opposition as a pro and should be able to adapt to what martin brings to the ring. Both boxers have fine skills and solid chins and i’m expecting this to be a pretty close fight with Martin doing just enough to win it based on his power advantage.

Martin possesses more power.
