Brad Rea vs Lyndon Arthur Preview Nov. 1st, 2025

Lyndon Arthur returns to the ring in his hometown of Manchester, England this Saturday, Nov. 1st to take on fellow countryman Brad Rea of Stretford, Lancashire. The 12-round light heavyweight battle is for Rea’s European Light Heavyweight Title and can be seen live in most nations on DAZN. Rea last fought in June when he beat Shakan Pitters by 12-round unanimous decision for the vacant European Crown. Arthur last boxed in April when he dropped a 12-round unanimous decision to Anthony Yarde. It was the third meeting between Yarde and Arthur as Arthur won a 12-round split decision in 2020 to retain his Commonwealth Title and win the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight Belt. Yarde took the rematch in 2021 though when he stopped Arthur in the fourth round to take both of those belts.

My Pick

The 27-year-old Rea climbs into the ring with a mark of 21-1 with 10 Ko’s and has boxed 93 rounds since turning pro back in 2018 following a pretty good amateur career. He reportedly stands 6-feet-3-inches tall with an unlisted reach and carries average power in his fists as 47.6 per cent of his wins have come by stoppage. However he has halted five of his last six opponents, but four of them entered the ring with a losing record. In fact, just eight of his 22 opponents have had winning records.

The lone defeat on Rea’s record came at the hands of Tyler Denny by way of a 10-round unanimous decision in 2022 in a shot at the British Middleweight Title. Rea has taken on a steady diet of domestic level opponents but did look impressive enough in his last fight, which saw him beat Shakan Pitters in the summer. However he is taking a bit of a step up in class against Arthur this weekend.

Arthur is now 34 years old and he makes his ring entrance with a mark of 24-3 with 16 Ko’s and has boxed 149 rounds since making his pro debut in 2016 following his amateur career. Since then he captured the vacant British Commonwealth Light Heavyweight Title in October, 2019 via a 12-round unanimous decision over Emmanuel Amin. He defended it against Doc Spelman by unanimous decision before beating Anthony Yarde by 12-round split decision in December, 2020 to add the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Crown.

He defended the WBO belt with a ninth-round TKO over Davide Faraci but then lost both of his titles when he was halted by Yarde in the fourth round of their 2021 rematch. Arthur bounced back from his first pro defeat with TKO wins over Walter Sequiria (5th rd) and Joel McIntyre (2nd rd) before beating Boris Crighton on points over 10 rounds and then stopping Braian Suarez for the vacant IBO Belt. In December, 2023 Arthur lost that title in his first defence when he dropped a unanimous decision to Dmitrii Bivol.

Arthur used his boxing skills to upset Yarde in a close split decision in their first meeting but couldn’t handle his power in the rematch and lost a close call in their third bout. As far as power is concerned, Arthur is above average as 66.7 per cent of his wins have come by stoppage but he’s gone the distance in four of his past five fights. He has a decent chin even though Yarde halted him and he stands 6-feet-2-inches with a 74-inch reach which sees him give up an inch in height to Rea.

Prediction…

Rea surprised Shakan Pitters earlier this year with his skills and determination even though he had been taking on lower-level opposition throughout his career. Arthur definitely can’t take him lightly but if both boxers come in at their peaks I believe Arthur should emerge with a victory due to his power, chin and experience against tougher opposition.

Arthur’s experience should do the trick.
