Lindolfo Delgado vs Arthur Biyarslanov Preview October 31st, 2026

The vacant IBF Junior Welterweight Title is up for grabs in Saudi Arabia this Saturday, October 31st. Unbeaten Lindolfo Delgado of Mexico will be battling undefeated Arthur Biyarslanov of Russia on the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli fight. That’s the plan anyway, but as of October 26th, Delgado hadn’t shown up in Saudi. Biyarslanov last fought in April when he stopped Jimerr Espinosa in the seventh round to defend his NABF Junior Welterweight Belt. In his previous outing the Russian defended his belt with a 10-round unanimous decision over former world champion Sergey Lipinets.

Delgado was last in the ring in November when he edged fellow countryman Gabriel Valenzuela by split decision over 12 rounds. Delgado was also dropped in the final round of that fight. In his previous outing, Delgado earned a 10-round majority decision over Elvis Rodriguez to retain his WBO Latino Junior Welterweight Title. This weekend’s contest can be seen live on DAZN pay-per-view.

Here are the betting odds from online sportsbook BetOnline.ag (full review here).

  • Lindolfo Delgado +130
  • Arthur Biyarslanov -180

My Pick

Delgado’s a 31-year-old with a perfect record of 24-0 with 16 Ko’s. He’s boxed 132 rounds since making his pro debut in 2017. He had a good amateur career as he fought as a lightweight at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, but lost his first contest. Delgado managed to win silver medals at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games and the 2015 Pan American Games. He also competed in the World Series of Boxing and measures 5-feet-9-inches tall with a 68-inch reach.

The native of Linares, has enough power to be considered dangerous as his current knockout ratio clocks in at 66.7 per cent. He’s stopped three of his last six opponents and six of his past 13. He won the vacant WBO Latino Junior Welterweight Title in 2014 with a 10-round split decision over Bryan Flores. He dropped Flores in the third round and Flores had a point deducted in the seventh frame for a low blow. Delgado hasn’t really faced any elite opponents as his biggest wins have been against Rodriguez, Flores, Jackson Marinez, Carlos Sanchez, Luis Hernandez Ramos and Clarence Booth.

Biyarslanov, who resides in Toronto, Canada, is a 31-year-old who climbs through the ropes with a perfect record of 21-0 with 17 Ko’s. He was born in Russia but left for Azerbaijan when he was four years old. His family then emigrated to Toronto in 2005 and he began boxing as 12-year-old. The boxer’s life story is told in a biographical book called Next Round: A Young Athlete’s Journey to Gold. He’s known as a powerful puncher as his current knockout ratio stands at 81 per cent with 11 of his last 13 wins coming by stoppage.

The southpaw turned pro in 2018 following a good amateur career which saw him capture a gold medal at the Pan American Games in 2015. He also represented Canada at the Summer Olympics in 2016 and the World championships in 2015. Biyarslanov won the vacant NABF Junior Welterweight Title in 2024 when he stopped Elias Mauricio Haedo in the fourth round. He first took a step up in class against Lipinets as he faced mainly domestic-level opponents until then.

He defended the belt with a third-round TKO over Tamas Kiliti; a 10-round unanimous decision over Jonathan Jose Eniz; a second-round TKO over Mohamed Mimoune; a 10-round unanimous decision over Sergey Lipinets and the seventh-round TKO over Jimerr Espinosa in his last contest. Biyarslanov stands just over 5-feet-8-inches tall with a 69-inch reach. He’s a half-inch shorter than Delgado but has a one-inch edge in reach.

Prediction…

Delgado and Biyarslanov have both quietly gone about their business and built up unbeaten records but they haven’t taken on any current world-class contenders. This is a good test for both boxers if the fight comes off as it’s for a world title. I understand why Delgado may not want to risk his life by flying to Saudi Arabia though. This should be a close fight as they both had fine amateur careers and know how to box. However the slight edge goes to Biyarslanov since he appears to be concentrating on the fight and possesses more power.

Biyarslanov has a slight overall edge here.
