Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Milwaukee Brewers June 28 Free Pick

By MLB

June hasn’t been kind to our bankroll, which is disappearing faster than a dwindle at this point. We need two wins to close June at just .500. And I’m going to try and snag both of them today with two unders going off tonight. The first of two pits young Julio Urias against Chase Anderson in Milwaukee.

Now, Chase Anderson has a mid-5 ERA and was just shelled by the Dodgers in his most recent start, 10 days ago in LA, but I’m ok getting behind him in this spot against the same club. As I mentioned, Anderson’s ERA isn’t pretty, but his peripherals tell a different story. He’s got a 1.28 WHIP and that’s because of the home run ball. Anderson has served up 16 in just 73 innings this season, including two to the Dodgers in that last start. He is a fly ball pitcher, but this home run rate is high for Anderson in a short Major League career. I’m thinking he’s been through a bad  stretch of clustered home runs and that things will begin to normalize as he continues to eat innings this season. That means he’s someone to back moving forward. MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers-Spring Training Media Day

I feel the same way about Urias as he continues to acclimate to Major League hitters. He’s thrown his best game of the season against Milwaukee and has only allowed four runs in his last three starts – the other two coming against San Francisco and Washington. He’s also maintained a 7:1 strikeout to walk ratio over his last four outings and looks to be the man to shut down Milwaukee again on Tuesday.

It’s a matchup of two young pitchers who should be even better than they’ve been so far this season. On top of that, neither offense is especially potent and the number is surprisingly high here. I’m definitely willing to play under a 9.0, but for just a half a unit, considering the recent struggles. Let’s get this one.
