2020 NFL Draft Betting Lines and How To Bet Guide

The 2020 NFL Draft is set to proceed as scheduled this year, but the draft will be done in a virtual manner with top team officials making picks from home and top draft picks joining the broadcast as they are selected.  The first round is set to take place tomorrow, Thursday April 23rd starting at 8pm EST with remaining rounds finishing up on April 24th and 25th.  The entire draft will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN and the NFL Network.

With most of the sports world currently on hold I’m expecting this virtual version of the NFL Draft will reach a huge audience and I’m expecting plenty of betting action on the event.  For this reason I wanted to add this page to help new bettors learn how and where you can bet on the 2020 NFL Draft online.

NFL Draft Betting Lines

BetOnline has a huge selection of NFL Draft betting options.  At the time I’m writing this page there are around 100 different NFL Draft betting lines available including draft position over/unders, top players selected at different positions, whether specific players are drafted in the first round, and various fun broadcast related props.

To see the full list of NFL Draft props with up to date betting lines head to BetOnline.ag open the ‘Football’ drop down menu and select ‘NFL Draft’ in the sportsbook.

Now let’s take a look at some of the popular bets to give you an idea of the selection.  These odds are from April 22nd.

Player Drafted Third Overall

Joe Burrows is a lock to go #1 and most agree that Chase Young is very likely to be the #2 pick in the draft, so that leaves #3 as the first big question mark.  Jeffrey Okudah is the favorite according to the odds, but Derrick Brown has also emerged as a potential third overall pick, and Tua Tagovailoa has impressed with his workouts.  If Chase Young slips from #2 he could be a value play at +1900.

When is Tua Tagovailoa Selected

Tua is the biggest question mark heading into this draft.  Which NFL team is in need of a QB enough to pull the trigger early in the draft, either with a pick they own or by trading up.

When Will Jeff Okudah be Drafted

Jeffrey Okudah, who is the favorite to be picked 3rd overall, also has an over/under of pick 4.5.  If you like Okudah as the third pick, you may want to consider this option instead because it would allow for Tua or Derrick Brown to slip into one of those top 3 picks and a bet on Okudah under 4.5 would still payout.

BetOnline.ag has these over/unders for a lot of projected first round players, as well as “1st round yes/no” props for a lot of the bubble first rounders.

More 1st Round Picks

BetOnline also has match-up bets for more first round picks between different categories such as offensive vs defensive players, Big 12 vs Pac 12 players, Clemson vs Ohio State players, etc.

Here’s an example using the LSU vs Alabama players betting line:

LSU +0.5 is the favorite in the betting line.  The +0.5 means that if both teams have the same number of first rounders a bet on LSU would be the winner.

Broadcast Props

There are also a variety of broadcast related props such as highest number of people in the same room shown on the broadcast, who the #1 pick (Joe Burrows) hugs first, will a draftee experience technical difficulties, etc.

There are even props on the number of pets shown on the broadcast.  The over/under on dogs is 3.5, but the over/under on cats is just 0.5.  I like the over on both.

I think those betting lines were a good representation of the types of NFL Draft bets available at BetOnline.  You can see all of the up to date betting lines for yourself at BetOnline.ag by opening the ‘Football’ drop down menu and selecting ‘NFL Draft’.
