2021 NFL Draft Betting Lines and How To Bet Guide

The 2021 NFL Draft is set to take place this week with the draft returning to a normal event with top prospects and Roger Goodell in attendance in Cleveland, as well as fans at a limited capacity. The first round is set to take place Thursday April 29th starting at 8pm EST with remaining rounds finishing up on April 30th and May 1st.  The entire draft will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN and the NFL Network.

The NFL Draft is the biggest event of the spring and summer months for football fans, so I’m expecting plenty of betting action on the event.  For this reason I wanted to add this page to help new bettors learn how and where you can bet on the 2021 NFL Draft online.

NFL Draft Betting Lines

BetOnline has a huge selection of NFL Draft betting options.  At the time I’m writing this page there are around 100 different NFL Draft betting lines available including draft position over/unders, top players selected at different positions, whether specific players are drafted in the first round, and various other draft related props.

To see the full list of NFL Draft props with up to date betting lines head to BetOnline.ag open the ‘Football’ drop down menu and select ‘NFL Draft’ in the sportsbook.

Now let’s take a look at some of the popular bets to give you an idea of the selection.  These odds are from April 26th.

Player Drafted Third Overall

Trevor Lawrence is a lock to go #1 and most agree that Zach Wilson is very likely to be the #2 pick in the draft, so that leaves #3 as the first big question mark.  Another quarterback is expected to be selected third overall. The question is which one. Mac Jones is the favorite at odds of -180, but Trey Lance (+125) and Justin Fields (+600) are other possibilities.

First Wide Receiver Selected

Ja’Marr Chase is a big favorite to be the first wide receiver taken in this years draft. Jaylen Waddle is another possibility, and Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith could also get a look from teams early in the draft.

Tua is the biggest question mark heading into this draft.  Which NFL team is in need of a QB enough to pull the trigger early in the draft, either with a pick they own or by trading up.

When Will Trey Lance be Drafted

Trey Lance, who is one of the top five quarterbacks expected to go early in the first round, is an interesting player to watch. Some mock drafts have Lance going third overall, but others have him dropping late in the top 10, and some over outside of the top 10. After the top three picks, the question becomes whether teams need a QB, just as much as if Lance deserves to be a top pick. The over/under for Trey Lance is set at 6.5, and I think the value is probably on Lance dropping past pick 6 in the 2021 NFL Draft.

BetOnline.ag has these over/unders for a lot of projected first round players.

First Round Pick Totals

BetOnline also has totals available for the number of players selected in the first round. Different categories include positions, college Conference, and college team (Alabama).

Here’s an example using the total of SEC players selected in round 1:

The SEC is expected to dominate round one this year, with the odds suggesting that 13+ SEC players will be drafted on Thursday night.

I think those betting lines are a good representation of the types of NFL Draft bets available at BetOnline.  You can see all of the up to date betting lines for yourself at BetOnline.ag by opening the ‘Football’ drop down menu and selecting ‘NFL Draft’.
