How To Bet On 2020 Kentucky Derby From Arizona or Utah

By Horse Racing

It’s Kentucky Derby day!  The 2020 Kentucky Derby is scheduled to run today, September 5th at Churchill Downs, after being postponed from it’s original date of May 2nd.  The Belmont Stakes race went ahead as previously scheduled on June 20th meaning that the Kentucky Derby will be the second leg of the Triple Crown this year.  Tiz the Law won the Belmont Stakes in June and he will enter the Kentucky Derby as a big favorite, and the only horse who still has a chance of winning the Triple Crown this year.

Even with the postponement I’m still expecting the Kentucky Derby to garner a lot of media attention and betting action this year.  For this reason I wanted to add this page to help Arizona and Utah residents quickly and easily place bets on the 2020 Kentucky Derby.

On this page I will recommend our top rated betting site, touch on where Arizona and Utah residents can bet on the Derby, look at the odds for the race, and finish with a simple 3 step guide you can follow to bet on the 2020 Kentucky Derby online.

Kentucky Derby Betting in Arizona and Utah

It is not currently legal to operate a sportsbook in either Arizona or Utah.  This may change in the future, but at this time residents of Arizona and Utah who want to bet on sports must do so at offshore betting sites that are licensed and regulated outside of the United States, such as BetOnline.ag.  As I mentioned above, BetOnline is our top rated betting site for US residents looking to bet on the Derby online.

Arizona residents can also place Kentucky Derby bets at local tracks that offer simulcast betting.  Turf Paradise in Phoenix and Rillito Park Race Track in Tucson are two popular horse racing tracks in Arizona that will have off track betting available for the Kentucky Derby.

Kentucky Derby Odds

Here are the early odds for the 2020 Kentucky Derby from BetOnline.ag (odds taken September 5th).  You can see the up to date futures odds for the race at the BetOnline website in the ‘Sports’ section of the site by selecting ‘Horses Daily’ -> ‘Churchill Downs’ from the ‘Horse Racing’ drop down menu.

Tiz the Law comes into the Derby as a big favorite.  He won the Belmont Stakes in June, so he is the only horse that still has a chance to win the Triple Crown.
