A Brief History of Woodbine Oaks
The Woodbine Oaks was first raced in 1956 at a distance of 1 1/16 miles. In 1959 the distance was extended to 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs). The race was originally called the Canadian Oaks, with the name being changed to the Woodbine Oaks in 2001.
