The RSM Classic Betting Picks

By Golf

Another PGA event had to be finished on Monday due to inclement weather. This time Graeme Mcdowell beating Russel Knox and Jason Bohn in a playoff to win his first event of the year and put an otherwise poor season behind him. The Northern Irishman was all smiles at the end and will undoubtedly enjoy a very festive Christmas with his family now. Circumstances can change quickly in the golfing world, Mcdowell had not had a top 10 this season, however he looked like a man who was going to come right very soon. A million dollars richer and some precious down time ahead of him. All is well in G-Mac’s world again. This week sees the tour make its final stop of the year in Sea Island, Georgia. Sea Island Golf Course plays 7,005 yards long and is a par 70. Last years winner Robert Streb is back to defend the title he won in a playoff against Brendon de Jonge and Will Mackenzie. 6 of the worlds top 35 tee it up at Sea Island with the notables being Matt Kuchar and Zach Johnson. The open champion must surely be relishing his chances on a course he knows well and against a field he must fancy beating. This year has seen a lot of what we can expect in the future as far as new stars go. The likes of Speith, Mcilroy, and Day are here to stay. It is a great time to be following the sport as we may now have another big 3, who can say for sure but the future is bright and promises to deliver more jaw dropping action on The PGA Tour next year.

Zach Johnson (+1200 BetOnline.ag)

The Open winner should thrive around this course. It is not a bombers course so he should not be at any disadvantage being a shorter hitter. Over the last year Johnson has stepped up a gear and as all class players eventually do, he now plays well most weekends and finishes at the business end of the leaderboard consistently. All of this evidence points towards Johnson having a terrific week at Sea Island Golf Course against a significantly weaker field.

Patrick Rodgers (+2500  BetOnline.ag)

Patrick Rodgers is an exciting young talent who has all the shots in the bag. The last two events have seen him finish in the top 20 and last week he finished in 10th place. This end of season event is all set up for a player like Patrick Rodgers to excel in. If he can hit fairways then he will give himself chance at winning his maiden event on The PGA Tour.

Kevin Kisner (+1600 BetOnline.ag)

Kevin Kisner finished second two weeks ago in China at the WGC-HSBC Champions and looks to be in tremendous form. His ability to go from tee to green with relative ease will put him in a good position at the Sea Island Golf Course as it is not the longest, so he will be able to dial in with his short game and hopefully get the putts to drop.
