UCLA @ California (Week 6 Betting Line and Prediction)

The #25 Bruins (4-1) travel to Berkeley to take on the struggling Bears (1-4) this Saturday night. The Bruins are coming off a 42-14 win at Colorado after opening conference play with a loss to a surging Oregon State squad. The Bears were booed off the field last week at halftime as they trailed the visiting Arizona State Sun Devils 17-7 and ended up losing 27-17. Longtime Bear head coach Jeff Tedford the winningest coach in team history is starting to feel some heat with the emergence of the Sun Devils and Bruins a 1-4 start is troubling for a PAC 12 team that has been very consistent over his tenure. Bruin head coach Jim Mora has it rolling in Los Angeles and has re-energized a program stuck in mediocrity.

The visiting Bruins are led by an explosive offensive attack that averages (317) yards per game through the air and also features balance with (243) rushing yards per game. QB Brett Hundley is efficient completing (66%) of his passes while tossing (11) touchdowns versus only (3) interceptions. Hundley has completed double digit receptions to (9) different Bruin receivers. Tight-end Joseph Fauria (12.5) per reception leads the Bruins with (4) receiving touchdowns. The ground game is paced by Johnathan Franklin who has ripped off (697) yards and owns a (7.4) yards per carry average. The Bears are led by senior QB Zac Maynard who has thrown for (5) touchdowns.  The Bears deep threat is Keenan Allen who has (33) receptions for (388) yards.

UCLA (-2.5) @ California (Betting Prediction)

UCLA has struggled on the road but in particular at Berkeley against the Bears where they have not registered a win since 1998. The line is UCLA (-2.5) something seems a little fishy about this and I think I gave you the reason why but this Bruin squad is a different animal this season. The Bears defensively have issues such as #86 in the country in points allowed, #83 in rush defense and overall #82 in total defense these are not good signs for a dynamic Bruin offense who will be in attack mode. On the other side of the football the Bears are last in the country in sacks allowed (24) and worse yet tackles for loss (44). The Bruins are second in the PAC-12 with (18) sacks that is not a good mix if you are backing the Bears. Two teams going in opposite directions. Prediction: Bruins 31 Bears 20

Play: UCLA Bruins -2.5
