Anderson vs Arias Betting Odds

Here are the betting odds from online sportsbook BetOnline.ag (full review here).

  • George Arias +800
  • Jared Anderson -1500

My Pick

‘Big Baby’ Anderson is just 23 years old and owns a perfect record of 13-0 with 13 Ko’s. He’s boxed just 28 rounds since making his pro debut in 2019 and that’s obviously because he owns a 100 per cent knockout ratio. He enjoyed a successful amateur career and won the 2017 and 2018 U.S. National Championships. Understandably, he’s being brought along slowly in the pro ranks but 12 of his 13 opponents have entered the ring with a winning record.

Anderson won the vacant NABF Jr. Heavyweight Title in October, 2021 when he stopped Vladimir Tereshkin in the second round. He stands 6-feet-4-inches tall with a 78.5-inch reach but isn’t the quickest or most fluid heavyweight out there. However, he certainly has the power and determination to make his mark in the division. He’s taking a slight step up in class this weekend as he works his way up the ladder to taking on some higher-ranked heavyweights.

Arias is a 31-year-old who now fights out of the Bronx, New York and enters the fight with a perfect mark of 18-0 with 7Ko’s. He made his pro debut back in 2014 following a short amateur career and has 92 rounds of experience under his belt. He isn’t known as a powerful puncher as his current knockout record stands at 38.9 per cent and he’s gone the distance in six straight fights and in seven of the past eight with his last stoppage coming back in 2018.

At 5-feet-11-inches tall and with a 74-inch reach, Arias gives up five inches in height and 4.5-inches in reach to Anderson so will need to work his way inside to be successful. He’s taking a step up in class himself this weekend as his biggest wins so far have been against the likes of Byron Polley, Robert Simms, Tyrell Wright, Keith Barr Gabriel Hernandez and Cassius Chaney.

Prediction…

This may be arguably Anderson’s toughest pro test so far as Arias is unbeaten but he hasn’t really faced anybody of note and he lacks power. Anderson as a big height and reach advantage, is also eight years younger and owns a 100 per cent knockout ratio. I’m expecting Anderson to win his 14th straight fight this weekend.

Anderson’s power will be the difference here.
