Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin Preview Dec. 19th, 2025

Former undisputed Super Featherweight Champion Alycia Baumgardner of Fremont, Ohio will be putting her WBO/IBF/WBA Titles on the line against Leila Beaudoin of Canada this Friday, December 19th. The 12-rounder from Miami, Florida can be seen live on Netflix on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua tilt. Baumgardner last boxed in July when she beat Jennifer Miranda via a 10-round unanimous decision. Her previous bout in September, 2024 with Delfine Persoon was called off in the fourth round and called a no contest as Persoon was cut due to an accidental head clash after being dropped in the first round. Beaudoin last fought in June when she stopped Elhem Mekhaled in the sixth round to defend her WBO International Super Featherweight Title. She won the vacant belt 10 months earlier with a 10-round unanimous decision over Lizbeth Crespo.

My Pick
Baumgardner is 31 years old, resides in Detroit and makes her ring walk with a mark of 16-1 with 7 Ko’s. She made her pro debut in 2017 and has boxed 100 rounds since. Her lone loss as a pro came to Christine Linardatou by way of an eight-round split decision in July, 2018 when she lost the WBC International Super Featherweight Title. She then avenged that defeat with her unanimous decision over Linardatou in 2023. Baumgardner had won the vacant belt two fights earlier with an eight-round unanimous decision over Nydia Feliciano.
Baumgardner stopped Terri Harper in the fourth round in November, 2021 to win the WBC and IBO Super Featherweight Titles. She edged Mikaela Mayer by controversial split decision in October, 2022 to add the IBF and WBO Belts and is now riding a 10-fight winning streak. She was the undisputed champion but vacated the WBC Belt in September as she wanted to fight three-minute rounds, which the WBC currently forbids for female boxers.
She turned pro after an amateur career which saw her win a silver medal at the 2014 National Golden Gloves as a welterweight and a gold at the 2014 US National Boxing Championships as a lightweight. Baumgardner stands 5-feet-6-inches tall with a 66-inch reach. As far as power goes, she’s far above average in the female version of the sport with 43.8 per cent of her wins coming by stoppage but has gone the distance in her last five official fights and in 10 of the past 13.
The 29-year-old Beaudoin hails from Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec and climbs through the ropes with a fine mark of 13-1 with 2 Ko’s. She made her pro debut in 2019 and has boxed 88 rounds since. Beaudoin was a downhill skier in her younger days and took up boxing to help her cardio training and eventually swapped sports. She fought competitively for the first time in 2013 and went on to enjoy a successful amateur career, included capturing a national championship in 2019.
Beaudoin reportedly measures 5-feet-5-inches tall with an unlisted reach so gives up an inch in height to Baumgardner. She certainly doesn’t match the champion in power though as just two of her 13 wins have come by stoppage for a current winning knockout ratio of 15.4 per cent. Her last stoppage came her last bout in June however. Beaudoin’s lone pro defeat came at the hands of Elizabeth Chavez Espinoza in 2023 when she dropped an eight-round unanimous decision.
Prediction…
Baumgardner is much more powerful than Beaudoin and has faced better opposition as a pro as well. But although Baumgardner’s beaten some tough opposition she can’t afford to take her opponent lightly or lose focus during the fight, especially since they’re fighting twelve three-minute rounds. I believe Baumgardner will get the win here and retain her titles though with Beaudoin putting up a pretty good fight.
Baumgardner possesses more power and experience.
