Azim vs Scoby Betting Odds

Here are the betting odds from online sportsbook BetOnline.ag (full review here).

  • Kurt Scoby +600
  • Adam Azim -1000

My Pick

Azim is just 23 years old and climbs through the ropes with a perfect record of 13-0 with 10 Ko’s. He’s known as a powerful puncher as his current knockout ratio stands at 76.9 per cent. He’s halted his last four opponents but went the distance in his previous two bouts. Azim turned pro in 2020 following a good amateur career which saw him reportedly win 10 national titles and being ranked the world’s top welterweight youth amateur. He currently has 59 rounds of pro experience under his belt.

As a pro, Azim captured the vacant WBC Youth Inter-Continental Super Lightweight Title in 2022 when he stopped Anthony Loffet in 66 seconds. He then won the European Crown in November, 2023 with a 10th-round TKO over Franck Petitjean after dropping him in the fifth round. He took a step up in class against Ohara Davies last year and took another step up in his last outing against Lipinets. He seems seems well prepared for a world title shot in the future due to his skill and power. Azim stands 5-feet-10-inches tall with a reported 70-inch reach.

Scoby is a 30-year-old who makes the ring walk with a mark of with 18-1 with 16 Ko’s. He also carries great power in his fists as 88.9 per cent of his wins have come by stoppage including his last 13 straight. Scoby turned pro in 2020 after a fine amateur career and has 61 rounds of experience under his belt since. He measures 5-feet-9-inches tall with an unlisted reach so gives up an inch in height to Azim.

The lone loss on Scoby’s record came at the hands of Dakota Linger in April, 2024 when he stopped him in the sixth round in an upset. This means Scoby has gone the distance just three times in his 19 bouts. Eleven of his 19 opponents entered the ring with a winning record and his most notable victories have come against Emmanuel Morales Rodriguez, Henry Lundy, Daniel Lim, Haskell Rhodes and alex martin and will be taking a step up in class against Azim this weekend.

Prediction…

Scoby and Azim both possess plenty of power and Scoby has been stopped once. Azim has a bit more more experience against upper-level opponents and was set to face Zaur Abdullaev this weekend but the fight fell through and Scoby is a late replacement. This has the potential to be an entertaining contest as Scoby has a puncher’s chance and could surprise Azim. However I believe Azim has the skills to come out on top here regardless if it goes the distance or not.

Azim is seven years younger with good power.
