Cimb Classic Betting Picks

By Golf

The PGA Tour embarks on one of its biggest journeys of the season this week as the tour heads to Kuala Lumpur for the Cimb Classic. A tournament that has been dominated by Ryan Moore over the past 2 years. The man from Washington has won the last two events here and will look to make it a hat-trick when he tees up it up on Thursday. The Kuala Lumpur G&CC West Course measures 6,985 yards and plays as a par 72. This stunning golf course is not the longest but makes up for the lack of length in the decision making department. It is brain over brawn at the West Course as having a top strategy will see you finish higher up the leaderboard.  There are quite a few big name players making their way to Malaysia that include Henrik Stenson, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott, so it promises to be an exciting few days. The last Player on the PGA Tour to win 3 events on the bounce was Steve Stricker at the John Deere Classic from 2009 -2011. It remains to be seen whether Moore will have it in him to win a third time but one thing is for certain, and that is the man loves this golf course. Miguel Angel Jimenez won at Fanling 4 times, so who knows? All eyes will be on Moore to see if he can carry on his love affair with the Cimb Classic.

Branden Grace (+1600 BetOnline.ag)

The highly rated South African is in sensational form at present. Just 3 weeks ago he won all his games at The Presidents Cup and has finished in the top 5 in both the US Open and the PGA Championship this year. The Fancourt Links member will be hoping to go one better and win this week in Malaysia. There are few players coming into this tournament who will be as confident as Branden Grace is of winning. If he is in the mix by the weekend then there is every chance he can win.

Luke Donald (+2500 BetOnline.ag)

The former number one in the world has endured a lean spell and has not be at the winners circle since 2012. Is is only a matter of time before he puts that right and if his showing at The British Masters was anything to go by he could put that monkey on his back to bed this weekend in Malaysia. Donald finished for a tie of 5th at Woburn during the British Masters, all this depsite being dumped by his Caddie the week before. Things are changing in Donald’s life and maybe for the better. Watch out for him this weekend.

Ryan Moore (+1800 BetOnline.ag)

The defending champion knows how to get it done around this course as he successfully defended his title last year. Everything about the West Course seems to suit his eye and that is a powerful combination in golf.  History tells us that a player who enjoys a course can play well at it his whole career. Moore seems to be doing just that and stands on the brink of another successful title defense.
