National Treasure is the favorite with official morning line odds of 9-5. National Treasure won the Preakness Stakes last year, but he’s only won 2 races in his 10 race career, with the other coming in his maiden race. He did finish 2nd at the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, so he’s been competitive in other high quality races, but he hasn’t earned a second big win after the Preakness.

The races is expected to be a battle between National Treasure and First Mission, who has won 3 of his 5 career races, all run in 2023.
