NFL 2016 Week 2 Steelers vs Bengals Betting Pick

By NFL

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals renew their rivalry this Sunday, in what will be one of the most watched games this week. The game will be played at Heinz Field and is scheduled to begin at 1 PM. ET.

Last year, the Steelers ended the Bengals playoff run and extended their first round losing streak in what was both an exciting and physical game. The Bengals looked like they were going to win their first playoff game under head coach Marvin Lewis, but the team imploded in the final minutes of the game, committing a series of penalties that put the Steelers in field goal territory. Pittsburgh converted the last second field goal and won the game, moving on to face the Denver Broncos.

In the playoff game, the Bengals were without quarterback Andy Dalton and the Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger suffered a shoulder injury in his throwing hand, forcing him to miss most of the second half of the game.

This time around, both quarterbacks are healthy and ready to go.

Big Ben and Antonio Brown should be able to put up points against these division rivals.

Big Ben and Antonio Brown should be able to put up points against these division rivals.

After the first week of the season, both Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are 1-0. Since they play in the same division, this is a big game because the winner will be 2-0 and have the head to head advantage in the division standings.

The Bengals needed a last minute score to defeat the New York Jets last week, while the Steelers had their way with the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.

Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown picked up where they left off last season, connecting for two touchdowns. Brown finished the game with 126 yards and two scores.

For the Bengals, Andy Dalton racked up 366 yards, most of which went to A.J. Green, who finished the game with 180 yards and one touchdown.

While Cincinnati’s passing game ran smoothly, the team had trouble running the ball against the Jets. Jeremy Hill, who was the team’s leading rusher finished the game with 31 yards and one touchdown.

Pittsburgh on the other hand had a very balanced offense against the Redskins. Roethlisberger threw for 300 yards and DeAngelo Williams, who filled in for LeVeon Bell, who is serving a four-game suspension, finished with 143 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

The Steelers will try to establish the run early against the Bengals, while trying to force the Bengals to beat them through the air, while the Bengals will try to get a lot of pressure on Roethlisberger like they did in the playoffs, forcing him to make mistakes.

My Pick

This is a rivalry game, so anything can happen. However, I think the Steelers are the deeper team and since they will have the crowd behind them, I’m picking them to pull off a close victory and cover the spread.
