Giants bettingNew York Giants -1 @ Dallas Cowboys Week 8 – Side Play
Preview and Prediction

The New York Giants (5-2) make their annual visit to Jerry Jones’ $1.2 billion super stadium in a pivotal NFC East battle with the Dallas Cowboys (3-3) at 4:25 EST on Sunday.  The Giants are looking to exact some revenge for a season opening loss to the Cowboys (24-17) as they chase their fourth straight victory in the Jones Dome.

New York is 3-0 in the new building with Eli Manning throwing for 1036 yards and 8 majors, including a brilliant 400 yard effort in a comeback victory (37-34) his last time out.  The Giants currently sit atop the division but a sweep of the season series would put the Cowboys back into contention for the division title.

The Cowboys were able to keep the Giants to a season-low 269 yards in their first matchup and sacked Manning three times, twice by DeMarcus Ware.  Eli has only been sacked twice since.  Dallas’ defense will seemingly be less effective without leading tackler Sean Lee who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday and will be out for the remainder of the season due to ligament damage in his right big toe.

Tony Romo took advantage of a banged up Giant secondary that is healthier now, as he threw for 307 yards and a season-high three touchdowns in the first installment.  Another key to the Cowboys’ victory was Demarco Murray’s 131 rushing yards, but he has a sprained left foot making his status questionable for Sunday Afternoon.  Felix Jones started in his place last week, but he is dealing with a knee injury.

New York Giants -1 (-120) @ Dallas Cowboys Week 8 (Betting Prediction)

Thus far the Browns and Bengals are the only teams to play both of their head-to-head divisional matchups.  Cleveland proved just how motivating these division games are as they stormed back from a first half deficit for a comeback revenge-game victory.  My point is that divisional enmities often bring out the best in teams; do not think for one minute that Tom Coughlin’s bunch will not be inspired to avenge their defeat in Week 1.

In spite of this loss the G-men are 7-3 in their last ten against the ‘Boys and are a perfect 3-0 ATS/SU at Jerry’s place.  They have covered their last eight games as visitor, while Dallas is 2-9 versus line in their last 11 as host.

Dig deeper into the numbers and it gets even better for Giants’ backers.  They are 8-1 ATS in road games after 2 or more consecutive wins over the last 3 seasons. Dallas is just 4-12 against divisional opponents over the last 2 seasons.
