Week 7 Preview and Prediction

The Sunday schedule for NFL Week 7 wraps up in an AFC North clash with Cincinnati (3-3) hosting Pittsburgh (2-3) for Sunday Night Football.  The Steelers are dealing with a depleted roster due to injury and have subsequently failed to close out fourth quarter leads.  They have lost their first three road games in the final period and enter week 7 with a losing record for the first time under Coach Mike Tomlin.

While the Steelers seem poised to end their road woes having won 10 of their last 11 in Cincinnati, the Bengals are looking for redemption after blowing their own late lead against Cleveland last week.

Pittsburgh could have linebacker LaMarr Woodley (strained hamstring) and center Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) back in the lineup.  They will likely be without Troy Polamalu (calf), linebacker Chris Carter (hamstring), right tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) and Alameda Ta’amu who was suspended two games following his arrest this past weekend.

Running backs Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) and Isaac Redman (ankle) are questionable.  Mendenhall scored four touchdowns in two games against Cincinnati last season and had been playing well since his return from injury earlier this season.

The Bengals will attempt to capitalize on those holes and end a four-game slide to the Steelers. Cincinnati has dropped back-to-back games after winning three consecutive and allowed 21 fourth-quarter points in last Sunday’s 34-24 defeat in Cleveland.

Andy Dalton threw for a career-high 381 yards and 3 touchdowns but also had 3 interceptions. Ben Roethlisberger has been doing his part for his club having thrown for 747 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception in the last 2 road games.

Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati Over 45 (betting prediction)

Pittsburgh is 0-3 SU/ATS in its three road games this year and a league worst 1-4 ATS (tied with Detroit).  The Steel are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 away from Heinz Field and have gone 3-0 O/U on the highway this year.

Cincinnati is a woeful 1-5-1 in its last 7 at home dating back to last year, and 14-8-1 O/U since 2011.

The total has gone over the posted number in 4 of the last 5 games between these rivals and 7 of the last 10.

The over is 4-3 ‘under the lights’ of Sunday Night through 6 weeks.

Do you see where I’m going with this?
