New York Mets vs. Pittsburgh Pirates June 8 Pick

By MLB

Our last play was the disaster I acknowledged that it could be. We’re 1-1 this month and will play the third under on Wednesday night. This one should be fun.

I say that because there isn’t a pitcher I’d rather watch today than Noah Syndergaard. Not only that, I think he’s the best pitcher in baseball. And in a big game, I’d take him over Kershaw, Sale or Arrieta. The fastball is just so dominant. It doesn’t matter what team he faces or where, when Syndergaard takes the ball, I don’t expect him to give up more than a run, which means I’m basically always eyeing the under. It all depends on who is opponent is. sbl

Tonight it’s a young man who is just as highly touted as Syndergaard was a couple of years ago. My friends who align themselves with the Pittsburgh Pirates have been talking about Jameson Taillon ever since Gerrit Cole got called up. I’ve never seen the man pitch, but I see the numbers, the physical specs and hear the buzz and can’t help but get caught up in the hype. And he’ll be at home going up against Thor! We’ve got to play this under on principle alone. It should be noted, however, what the Mets did to Julio Urias in his Major League debut two weeks ago. On a side note, I’m readying myself to begin backing Urias in his next couple starts.

Syndergaard will dominate. I’m hopeful Taillon does too. Let’s play the under for a full unit bet tonight.
