WGC-Cadillac Championship Betting Picks

By Golf

The first World Golf Championship event of the year will be played this week at the TPC Blue Monster at Trump National Doral. This is one of the longest and most brutal tracks on the tour as it measures 7, 543 yards and plays as a par 72. The closing 18th hole is one of the most daunting holes they play all season, it has water running down the entire left side of the hole so whether they are on the tee or fairway, they will still be tormented by the lurking water on the left. The WGC events always bring out the strongest fields as the top 50 players in the world qualify automatically. There is no cut so even those that finish last will get a financial reward. The main pairing for the first two days will be Rory Mcilory, Jordan Speith and Jason Day. That type of grouping symbolizes everything that is right about this event and will attract huge gallery’s and even bigger TV audiences at home. Defending champion Dustin Johnson will try and utilize his length to his advantage again. Johnson managed to win the WGC-Cadillac Championship in his first event back after taking a 6 month break from the game. This may well be the last WGC event at Trump Doral as Cadillac’s sponsorship ends after this event so there is a chance this will be the last time we see the players wrestling with the Blue Monster. It should make for gripping viewing.

Bubba Watson (+1000 BetOnline.ag)

Bubba Watson has enjoyed some tremendous form at this event without actually winning it. He has finished in the top 3 during the last 4 times he has played here so it is a course that Watson obviously feels very comfortable playing. Given the current form he is in, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Watson managed to win his first WGC-Cadillac Championship at Trump Doral.

Sergio Garcia (+3300 BetOnline.ag)

Sergio Garcia is coming off a runner up position at The Honda Classic last week and will look to keep this good momentum going. Known as one of the longer hitters on tour and certainly one of the finest drivers of a golf ball suggests that Garcia has the form and attributes to become a winner this week, and shake of the disappointment of a 2nd place finish last week.

Jordan Speith (+1200 BetOnline.ag)

Speith sat out last weeks Honda Classic as he spent the last few days at Augusta National preparing for The Masters. He will be in a great frame of mind and will look to get in a win before The Masters in early April. He is always incredibly well prepared for each and every event and will look to carry on his world domination this week at Trump Doral with a win.
