The U.S. Open Betting Picks

By Golf

For golf enthusiasts and fans all over the world there is no better feeling than being in the same week that a major arrives. You know history is about to be made and someone else will go into the pages of golfing folklore history. That is the beauty of the majors and the weight they carry. It is the ultimate prize for every player who plays the game. Your legacy in the game isn’t defined by how many tournaments you win but by how many majors you have to your name when the time comes for you to put down the clubs professionally. That’s why this weeks U.S. Open at Erin Hills promises to capture the imagination and shake the ground the golfing world stands on. Erin Hills is the second longest course to host the U.S. Open and measures 7, 693 yards and is a par 72. It is only two yards shorter than Chambers Bay which played host in 2015. Defending U.S. Open champion Dustin Johnson is back and highly tipped to be the first man to win back to back U.S. Opens since Curtis Strange in  1988-89. Phil Mickelson only needs to win a U.S. Open to complete the grand slam. He has finished runner up in this event 6 times before. Mickelson had initially said that he wouldn’t play in the event as he would be attending his daughters graduation on Thursday morning. With the onset of bad weather and a later tee time, Mickelson is now considering a dramatic race against time and across the country to play at Erin Hills. It’s hard to say if the weather will give him the four hours he needs to make the first tee on time. Speculation was fueled when his caddie arrived at Erin Hills yesterday. With many intriguing and game changing story lines unfolding, you wouldn’t dare take your eyes off the action at Erin Hills this week.

Dustin Johnson (+800 BetOnline.ag)

It is all set up for Dustin Johnson to defend his U.S.Open title this week at Erin Hills. The course may be playing long but that won’t be a problem for Johnson. It will play right into his hands as he starts with an advantage over the field. His temperament will also play a huge part as he now seems to have his emotions in check. Without a doubt Johnson is the favorite this week.

Alexander Noren (+5000 BetOnline.ag)

The Swede is arguably in the best from of anyone in world golf. He seems to have found another gear to his game and is producing win after win. He has just won the European Tour’s flagship event in Surrey England, and will hope to produce another sparkling performance this week at Erin Hills.

Louis Oosthuizen (+5000 BetOnline.ag)

Louis Oosthuizen always arrives for the majors and this week will be no different at Erin Hills. His record in majors is exceptional and he enjoys the U.S. Open where he finished second in 2015 at Chambers Bay. The sweet swinging South African is destined to win another major and he may do it at Erin Hills this week.
